US Chamber of Commerce Delegation to Attend Nepal Investment Summit

A delegation from the US Chamber of Commerce is set to participate in Nepal’s Investment Summit scheduled for April 28 and April 29. US Ambassador to Nepal, Dean Thompson, conveyed this information during a meeting with Minister of Finance Barshaman Pun at the Ministry of Finance on Monday.

The meeting delved into various mutual interests, focusing on ensuring the timely completion of projects supported by the US in Nepal. The American envoy assured full support from their side to ensure the success of the Investment Summit, as per Minister Pun’s Secretariat office.

Minister Pun highlighted ongoing preparations to host the summit efficiently, emphasizing efforts towards legal and procedural reforms to foster an investment-friendly climate. Anticipating increased participation from American investors, Minister Pun expressed optimism about the conducive investment environment being cultivated in Nepal.

Efforts to improve Nepal’s investment climate include advancing the process of rating Nepal’s creditworthiness through international credit rating agency Fitch. Minister Pun also informed about Nepal’s removal from the Financial Action Task Force blacklist, along with the endorsement of bills related to Anti Money Laundering and Business Environment Promotion in Parliament.
