Nepal Rastra Bank Paves Path for Digital Wallet Mergers

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has amended the Payment and Settlement Bylaw, to allow digital wallets to merge. The amendment was made in order to consolidation and of the digital payment industry in Nepal. the new amendment, organizations have received a license to perform payment activities can merge or acquire each other. However, only payment system operators (PSOs) and payment service (PSPs) of the same nature can merge.

The amendment to the Payment and Settlement Bylaw, 2077 is a positive step for the digital payment industry in Nepal.
