So, I live in the valley. And I want to go to Pathibhara Mandir. This is because of an experience shared by a friend of mine. I want to go there before Dashain. From what I understand, I have to go to Illam first. And then it is a 13 hours ride on Tata Sumo from there. Going to Illam shouldn’t be a problem, but I will be clueless once I reach there. So, could you fill me with details? Like aru kehi modes of transportation chha? Like buses from Illam or cheaper rides? Or if something to keep in mind like scammers? Or even lodging things?

Just pack your bags and leave, Pathibhara mata will take care of the rest.
There’s a shorter route. Goto Dharan. (Night or day) Than you get a sumo (morning) to Taplejung bajar (fungling). From the taplejung bus stand (evening), you get another sumo to sano phedi. From sano phedi you walk 1-2 hours to Thulo phedi.
It’s highly recommended to spend your night at Thulo phedi and start walking towards the temple in morning. It’s 2-3 hours walk to temple.
If money is not an issue, then helicopter?
