1500 rapid here, I play ruy Lopez main line as white or kings Indian as black
I closed my account on both recently. No point trying to improve your chess on either site, you will just get pummeled by cheaters, especially lichess, who seem to never ban cheats. At least chess.com occasionally bans the real blatant ones (they have to have been cheating for multiple games and be really blatant about it. I don’t think chess.com acts on individual reports of cheating, it has to be multiple reports from many players.
I’ll just stick to playing bots on chess.org or try to find a local chess club.

1300+ thyo classic ma nakheleko dherai vayo, rapid ma ta 1000 hola LOL
retired 1600 here, mainly played queen’s gambit on white and sicilian while playing black. Don’t take membership, plenty of stuff online that you can learn from. Practice a lot of puzzles on lichess especially because those are taken from real games by real, normal people. Remote Chess Academy on youtube is really good. On lower ratings, I used scandanavian defense which worked well.
1200 rapid. I play Ruy Lopez (Spanish)/Queen’s Gambit as white & Caro-Kann /King’s Indian as black.
Peak 1800. Catalan and carro kann. Play less analyze more
