Today I was doing the Tihar special ghar dailo sar safai abhiyan and I noticed something right away. Every stoke of the broom accumulated more and more hair, every room I went to clean, I’d come out of it with enough hair to make a wig out of it. It was to a point that the amount of hair was noticeably more than the actual dust I was attempting to clean. It had been a while since I had done a thorough cleaning but I have been brooming my rooms almost every 2/3 days. I got scared seeing at how much my hair had fallen within such a short time.
My hair was never thick to begin with, but that is why it is a much bigger problem, how thin will it get?? At this rate of hairfall, I wouldn’t have a single strand left by the time I’m 25 (I’m 21 now). Problem here is that my hair fall looks on track to exceed the rate at which my father and grandfather’s hair did. We do share some form of androgenic alopecia but I think it is getting more pronounced with me.
The hairline towards my temples are receding rapidly. I am coping with this by outgrowing the hair on the top of my head and fizzling it around so that these areas are covered but this trick won’t hold up for too long either with the rate it is going. I tried to consult with doctors but they suggested that it was genetic and I should regularly use medicine if I want to prevent it. But having to be dependent on medicine for my whole youth seems counterproductive at least.
If someday I am at risk of going completely bald, I am thinking of getting a hair transplant surgery then. Have any of you had any experience with such procedures? And has medication like Finasteride and Minoxidil worked for any of you that have tried? I’m trying to find the most efficient way out of this dilemma.
In addition, the hair on the side of my head is slowly turning white at such a young age. In just a couple of months, it has become uncountable how many grey hairs I have at this point. I use shampoo once every 2/3 days to try to combat these, but I don’t think there has been any substantial improvement anyway.
How important is hair for finding a balanced partner for life? In case I do get bald by the time I have to marry, will my hair impact my potential soulmate pool? Or would it be a good thing because I would get to marry someone who doesn’t judge me based on something I can’t control?

Finasteride and Minoxidil works, yes. I have used it on myself. The only downside is if you stop using it, hairfall will start again.
Hello!
So firstly, according to the American Academy of dermatology, It’s normal to shed **between 50 and 100 hairs a day**. But you probably already know that.
Also, good for you to know that hairfall and baldness is largely hereditary.
Minoxidill does work, but only till you regularly wear it. Also, it caused major itchiness on my end but I am a female.
I also have more than average gray/white hair (I absolutely adore it) but it occured in me in my teens due to vitamin B12 deficiency. Maybe get that checked.
Other than that, all I can say is, you dont have to worry too much, as in this day and age, hair transplant is easily accessible and available. Regarding the importance of hair for finding a ‘balanced partner’, well, your hair is just hair and not an antenna so you should be fine!
Hit the gym and start sporting a bald head. That’ll help you become more confident because more often than not, a ton of people will waste a ton of time, energy, and money try to regrow hair.
I’ve got a few friends that have had HTs. In most cases, HTs aren’t guaranteed to yield decent results. Plus, you’re better off getting HT once you hit the 40s because while your HT will help you replace the hair follicles you’ve lost, you’ll continue losing hair. Medicines like Finasteride have a number of side effects related to sex.
Min + Fin does indeed work, But before you get on them, know that they’re both lifetime drugs, meaning after you’ve taken them you should not stop, else your hair fall will continue and most likely get worse than before. Keeping that in mind, Min + fin did absolute wonders for my hair, the fin almost completely stopped hair loss and minoxididil brought back hair growth in a rapid pace (after the ~1 month shedding period ofc), If you don’t want to deal with the hassle of applying topical minoxididil every day, you can try out oral fin for some months and see if it improves it to a point where you might not even need min. I used fin only for around 7 – 8 months first to see the results and that alone really improved my hair, it brought back dead fair follicles too. I’ve been on min for around 4 months now and my hair has neven been better. Its about as dense as when i was 13 or 14. Make sure to do your own research before you try these drugs though.
My hair is thin and overly silky too. And just yesterday I saw a gray hair for the first time. I almost started crying.
