  1. Companies headed by Elon Musk come up with such outlandish world changing claims every other month with no intention to fulfill them. SpaceX was supposed to launch a manned mission 3 years ago. There are pages of such promises yet to be fulfilled.

    Musk’s companies are heavily in debt. They are always on a verge of going bankrupt. At this point, they are solely relying on PR and publicity stunts to generate cash. So, anything I hear from Tesla or SpaceX, I take it with a grain of salt.

    The bigger question should be, would international astronomy community let a private company to junk up the near-space with 42000 satellites?
