Today I discovered how one sided [onlinekhabar.com](https://onlinekhabar.com) is. It was about Balen Shah of which it hided important keywords and facts that made him look bad. It mentioned just about a little about the fact that the governmental vehicle was being used as an ambulance and hide the background of the medical condition why his wife was facing. This made it look that balen and his mistress were using the vehicle for their personal use and steer the story in a different direction making balen look bad.
Just look at the language and the facts given to bias Balen being a bad character in this article.

I am writing this not to show any admiration to Balen nor I am doing this because I am a follower. As a fact, I am not even from Kathmandu.
I am writing this only because I found today ki this portal is heavily one-sided and maybe controlled by some political power. I am not using this portal again because this is not the first time this thing has happened. It has a long history of being biased. It is becoming new godi.

What about what Balen did was plain wrong. We deserve proper response/reasons from Balen himself only then we can dismiss other news. He is accountable to the people of Kathmandu.
How exactly is it biased now? I see nothing but the truth. A Traffic stop of a Government vehicle on Holidays is completely within the law.
If it was really an emergency then balen wouldn’t go to Sri-Lanka leaving his wife alone here today.
That vehicle may not have been used as Ambulance. Their baby was born 9 days ago. And he posted yesterday. And his words are unacceptable. You are a public person, you are a leader, you have to weigh each and every word before speaking because you are on a pedestal. Your language cannot be similar to a local drunkard.
Balen was a bad character in this particular case to be honest.

Online khabar extremely biased. Even for basic news, the title are extremely misleading. I will skip the news if it is from Onlinekhabar.

Youtubers do a better job at covering KMC’s work than Mainstream media . Mainstream media come only when there is Controversies , Court Orders etc .

The thing with news is, if you write what the people want to hear you get more views. I’m sure they dont have any inherent liking of balen. Its just that they know being positive about balen is gonna get them the clicks. In fact there were experimental news sites that would pharse the same news in different ways, to fit individual biases. And it seemed to do pretty well at getting views vs news not tailored for that individual. You know they see a couple of your search key words and figure out what you would like to buy online. Similarly they can look at the stuff you browse and figure out how you’d like a particular news to be pharased. You know once they know about you biases, its easy to know what you would want to hear, and then they keep reinforcing your biases making it even more easier to know what you would want to hear. Online khabar ta infancy ma cha. The world of news is gonna change drastically in a few years. Once AI can write reliably enough, it will be writing the same news differently for different people. Variation at the individual level.
every news portal or news media is one sided. if youre on balen side, you will find onlinekhabar, kantipur or any other mainstream media as wrong. and if you are on the opposite side, you will find ronb, troll nepal and other sides as wrong.
we were just experiencing bias towards netas, tara in this case, there are groups with bias towards both sides. maja aaudai cha herna lai j hos. >.<
Don’t worry, it’s a circus out there. If you want to do anything for the community and yourself, do the farming. 🙂
