Bus lanes require actual *planning* and *enforcement* to actually be effective. If you look at other cities, they have bus lanes that cover the entire city’s network, whilst having automatic license plate traffic cameras that issue tickets for users entering the buslane.
If Nepal wants Bus Lane on the cheap, they should just section it off using concrete barriers, and have the idle Police actually do their jobs and stop motorists using them illegally.
Cycle lane is a joke for commuters
tbh i thought both lane management and no horn will not work however with proper fine, it worked somewhat successfully. I would say if they start fining, it will going to work. im around 80 percentage sure about it.
Bus lane? Where? When?
I hope this initiative succeeds.
Kei kura banara matra hudai na paila educate garna paryo. Testo kura haru suppose licensing ma pani educate garna sakincha rules haru so that new drivers know or pailai license vako haru ko lagi bela bela ma kei update dini kei system banauna sakincha. Otherwise every now and then naya naya aucha jancha hard to keep track of
tf is nefoli?
Chill bro , it has not started .
Also it is known that it will not work unless it has railings or some sort of hump .
Seems like this durta bus lane was made without any research or thought. This should have been in opposite side. In my opinion, this will cause accident.
Worse, this lane is usually used by other buses & micros to pick/drop/wait. And these vehicles will be bottle neck.
Originally in Ktm-bkt 6lane highway, this part was supposed to be used by slow vehicles or in low speed. opposite part was for higher speed. If there was strick pick and drop and no waiting policy this wouldn’t have been necessary.
Not to mention, this part is point of entering/exiting for many vehicles.
K ko chatak ho yo feri??
Whole rode nai bus lane jasari hanla hanla jasti chalaincha bus haru so yo lagu bhaye pachi yo lane bhaira chalauna paincha ki nai bus?
Yeah today a bike illegally crossed this freshly painted lane on my right and hit me trying to overtake.
Maal paako, chaal napaako ko? Bhanda Nepali janta.
Maybe some people are unaware of this system.
Bato xaina bus lane re baba feri 😭
Public bus ramro banau na sarkar paile, public bes charda ra niskida jyan jala jasto nahos na paile ani manage hos ani banau na lane ta. Trolly bus back lyau paile.
Nepal’s bus lanes and bike lanes look like half ass work. You need to have actual plan and strategy for this. You cant just randomly paint roads and call it bike lane or bus lane.
Tyo रातो भाग ma aru साधन le chunai nahune ho ra?
Lane and rule do not go in the same sentence in Nepal. Take your utopian urban development ideas elsewhere
Thau nai chaina k Khana banako hola etikkai jamm huncha tes mathi bus lane matra re lmao kolle follow garxa yo. Even I won’t I guess but if they’re strict then I have to 🤣. Mata yo k bich bich ma bus stop or emergency stop ko lagi banako hola vanthaneko 🤣
Nepali ley vako rule ta follow gardainan ,yeslai k garlan ra. Tei ni tanna fine hanyo vaney chai manxan hola hai.
Nepal is a hoax.
Is this true? What is the purpose of this lane? Doesn’t seem to be for passenger pick up and drop off as the door would be towards the live traffic. Doesn’t seem to be assigning a separate lane for bus too as the painted area is just enough for one bus to fit.
Dedicated bus line bhanda ,tei dedicated road ma metro chalayo bhaney best hunxa.
Bus lane re?😂 manchey opposite lane ma gayera overtake handinchan yeha
Tori ko dimag bhaka nepali haru🤣🤣
So are the traffic lights in Nepal XD someone told me it was built when the king or some foreign president visited Nepal for some important event… to show how civilized the city is, but when they left, it just stopped working? Hahaha so weird… nothing works.
In Nepal, “tesle ta gareda kei vayena” is the worst stupid culture we must eradicate.
I am a calm man with a very strong principal but whenever my wife says “… haru le ta gareko thiyo” I go fucking mad 😂
Bar lagaunjel there won’t be any dedicated lane. Bar lagauna parcha to make it rapid bus lane
You mean Rules in general?!
Bus lanes are usually good for a city, but this one just seems to be a rushed job. Almost nobody cares. We do need bus lanes, but let’s plan how we build them and where. Kathmandu’s public transit is very bad (not as bad as compared to other densely populated South Asian cities, but still bad). In my opinion, Kathmandu needs buses and a metro. I know a metro is very difficult for the country to build. But, if we ever have a good and stable government I’m sure we can get grants if we show how our project will be climate-friendly and such. Japan, US and other countries are actually giving grants for public transport projects, so our leaders could look into that.
