I’m not Nepali. So I was curious if there are still Nepali hostages in Palestinian captivity? I have heard that only Thai hostages were released among foreign hostages. Also I found it quite weird that some Nepali Origin influencers residing in western countries now show support to Palestine side & barely talk about recent earthquakes of Nepal. How is the general public view the conflict? & which side do the public support now that some hostages were Nepali. Also I noticed something that mostly left leaning governments/people support Palestine, Meanwhile right governments/people support Israel. So my assumption based on that is Nepal support Palestine? Since its a left government? An insight would be good to hear.

Nepal is the first country in South Asia to have bi lateral relations with Israel. The governments have a friendly relationship and Israel has helped Nepal quite a lot actually. There are migrant workers from Nepal in Israel. I had friends who went to university in Tel Aviv. Nepal is a popular tourist location for Israelis after they finish their mandatory military service. Most people don’t know much about the Israel-Palestine conflict. Those who know are mostly for better treatment of Palestinians. Hamas killed 10 Nepalis so I have seen some people change their opinion on the conflict because of that. People are reactionary. I mean there were people who openly supported Osama bin Laden back in the day. Then those people changed opinions on him because some Nepalis were beheaded in Iraq by a terrorist group. I’m for a peaceful solution in which both sides can reach a compromise and consensus. Palestine needs to be recognized and Palestinians and Israelis deserve to live in peace.
I think most nepalis don’t even bother to care about israel and palestine since we are all busy in surviving all day long. But yeah since there were Nepali peoples trapped in Israel and a lot of headlines were made of this since Hamas operation if they had to choose one they would most likely side with israel. And,I have also seen some youths protesting for Palestine in tiktok from Nepal so it’s 50-50.Personally,both hamas and israel are wrong and innocents are suffering on both sides.
Nepal’s position should be
– Release of all hostages by Hamas
– End to missile attacks on Israel from Gaza
– Ceasefire while Jordan/Qatar/US figure out a political solution
– Removal of all illegal settlements from West Bank
– Retreat of Israel to pre-1967 borders
– Establishment of a state of Palestine that includes Gaza, West Bank and East Jerusalem
– Disbanding of Hamas and replace it with Palestinian Authority
Well one of the side has billion dollar military bombing civilians, destroying lives and killing children. Imagine tomorrow your neigbourhood got bulldozed. Your house destroyed by an airstrike. Some of your relatives killed. You were lucky to live or maybe not because your life will be spent on a tiny open air prision with limited scope any improvement. What would you do? The choice for me is simple, i would join hamas. What else can you do?
The israeli civilians, the Nepali students and the palestinian civilians caught in the middle of all this are victims of colonialism. Hamas is a terrorist organisation for sure, but hamas is not the cause of this conflict. They are the product of the conflict. Ending hamas wont end the war. What needs to end is the colonial expansion of the european jewish state.
I mean there are some dumb fuck who care more about Palestine then their own citizens. It’s probably because the whole world is showing that Palestine is a victim, And these dumbass kids get manipulated by them. Ask them about Israel they don’t know shit, they bring up the innocent kids getting murdered and shit. Fucking pathetic ass bitches, don’t support someone when you don’t know shit bout anything. I would definitely stand with Israel cause our brothers and sisters are the victims of the bombing of Palestine. Palestine is already removed from the map from both apple and google soon it will be completely wiped off the map.
I find it unfortunate that Nepal had extended their support for Israel but stand with Palestine forever, I do not think one can be neutral in the face of a genocide. 🇵🇸
Oversimplified: Both, but more towards Israel cause they’re our homies.
