I will be staying in Nepal during the Dashain Festival. Which city is better to stay in, Kathmandu or Bhaktapur, for a foreigner? What do you think about staying for a few days in Kathmandu and a few days in Bhaktapur during the festival?

TBH Kathmandu and Lalitpur (inside ringroad) becomes pretty boring during Dashain, I don’t know about Bhaktapur. If you have Nepali friends you can go to their village, it will be more fun than staying in the capital

There are festivities organized in Kathmandu Durbar Square the first 1st, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th days of dashain, so, its the place to be.
