Taking Photos of People in Nepal

Taking Photos of People in Nepal

Hey,

I am a documentary photographer based in Italy. I will visit Nepal soon. My question is if the people in Kathmandu and Nepal are open to Photographers, or if they dont like if I take pictures around and of them? Obviously I will ask them, but it would be interesting to know how they feel about Photographers. Thank you

  1. Don’t worry, we like being photographed in public places by somebody with a nice SLR camera. Some people do call you out asking if you can click a picture of them. Just to be on the safe side, I would recommend to request permission or simply describe your purpose.
Have an amazing time in Nepal! Festival is just around the corner so you might find a lot of people roaming in the streets. Cheers!
