I will arrive in Katmandu this night and will need a taxi to reach my hostel.
I would know how much should i pay for a fair ride from airport to my hotel (north of Thamel quarter) by night.
Google is estimating around 7 km.

Don’t take Taxi, Take indriver or Pathao. Taxies will charge you way more. Once they charged Rs. 800 for me and my cousin from Sinamangal to Lokanthali, and mind you Rs. 800 was when we were sharing the ride with 2 other passengers. I knew taxies were expensive, but not to the point where they would charge Rs. 800 for 5-7 kms ride. I later found out later that I was scammed.

If you’re coming by bus then there’s a good chance their first offer will be equal or more than your bus ticket, doesn’t matter how prepared I’m hearing their price always shocks me so, no idea
Pathao says around 350 but if it’s around 500 from airport I’d pay up as it’s night time.
