Do nepalese people not have concept of consent? Or age of consent?

Do nepalese people not have concept of consent? Or age of consent?

With yo recent but not so recent paul shah ko cases
where both of the girls were underaged we all have seen ungodly amount of nepalese people supporting him. As long as you’re famous and have support of teenage fangirls backing you up Nepal ma j garna ni paini ho?

  1. im pretty sure most of the nepali people dont see any problem with a 20+ guy dating below 16 kids. I have seen so many full grown adults date and flirt with underaged girls like its nothing and no one bats an eye. We as a nepali population havent really come to really critically think of the consequences of it and all.

  2. Ajha rape case ko kei news aayo bhane all the comments say… “Nepal ma mahila lai adhikqr dherqi bhayo” , “keti haruko kamai khane bhado”. People are dumb.

  3. Nepali ma paul shah ra sandeep lammichanne lai rapist bhanyo bhane tara baral and gangs dheki 80% nepali haru gali garna auchan. Keti lai dosh dinchan, deuta karan nai gareko cha celebrity haru lai. Paul shah ko case ma pani cyber harassment le case firta liyeko jasto lagcha ani sandeep lammichanne ko case ma even judge know he is guilty but couldn’t give verdict bcoz of the fear of backlash and threat they will get. Arajak samaj ma chau hami haru jasma tara baral jasto atiwadi haru lai hero bhanako chau.

  4. Our society is new in concept of consent. Marrying age for girl used to be 17-22 just a decade ago . Even our music got words like 16 barse jawani , kalilo 16 barsa ma , 16 pugi 17 ma lagechhau which use to normalise such stuff . But after paul n sandeep case i see many of my teen friend are aware to not try for u18 girl . So ea thats one + aspect. So the answer of your title is yes our society doesn’t use to have concept of consent .

  5. Ya they are popular , they are goodlooking , so offcourse girls will be attracted to them and want to have sex with them , but it’s the thing for people like Sandip and Paul to understand that “she is underaged , I shouldn’t do it “!! But Nepalese people’s concept is if a girl wants sex she is bad , characterless , slut , such a bullshit mindset of these people ,
Offcourse they would want to fuck handsome guys , what’s the big deal ? Why would that define her at all ???

  6. We can’t determine yesto case ma until irrefutable evidence back one side we have seen in more recent years women will accuse men of rape and get away with it while the men have their lives ruined. I think this is the direct consequence of those women who filed false claims in the first place the whole society is paranoid of this shit now essentially women enabled friendly fire on themselves and this is a direct consequence of it until evidence comes up we can’t give judgement who’s wrong and who’s right we can just be neutral about this unfortunately the women who suffered are the greatest victim of the false accusations trend cause noone now will believe them

  7. No they don’t. That is women are getting raped everyday. It’s a combination of patriarchy, class system where minorities are easily exploited, lack of social and political awareness and lack of proper education

  8. I have many opinions on this thing:
    1. Validity of consent for sexual intercourse is an arbitrary concept. Nepal has 18, like the US, however, even some of the most developed countries have the age of consent less than that and also legal provision for what can be the age gap between people who have sex.
    2. In the countries where age of consent for sex is 18, and there is no legal provision for age gap, adolescents who actually need to practice safer sex practices and have a healthy sex life are barred from having sex at all due to fear of the law. Therefore, something like a Romeo Juliet law could be made which would help adolescents to explore themselves sexually and also maintain healthy sexual relationships.
    3. I don’t know why people supported Paul as if their support could hamper the legal system, which should be based on evidence rather than social sentiment. However, this is Nepal where legal system is awful and social justice still exists, so whether Samikshya/Paul got legal justice is unknown because our society made Samikshya withdraw the case herself which is really sad and a matter of shame for us.
    4. Men in Nepal do not respect women for who they are or what they have done. They do not treat a woman as a human but like a enslaved object who needs to be judged by her virginity and kept in tight scrutiny all the time. Also, they do not fail to pass sexist comments, harass in public, sexually abuse them and even rape them because for them, women are just sexual objects and nothing more.
    5. There are also some rare cases of women blackmailing men after consensual sex, however the patriarchal society will always give examples of these rare cases to prevent justice.
    6. Why is there no law against adult females raping underage males? Or even rape against males which may be committed by males/females/other genders? This is also a very serious issue because even child male victims of sexual abuse do not get justice if any adult violates them.

Sorry for writing this long. Just a few things in my head and always open for suggestions/comments.

  9. Aauta kura chehe sahe vaniyau as long as you are famous or rich you can get away with any case. In Underage case consent shouldnt even matter as adult is involved it’s rape.

  10. that’s the problem here….there is no concept of consent, age or pedophilia here in Nepal. My friends in my village would randomly talk about a girl going to school and I always tell them its a child dont talk things about her. Now this is the case in most rural areas.
