I just passed 12 so I wanted to try something new so I start growing my hair it’s been 4 months now and my hair is pretty big but I was thinking about growing it more because winter is coming but my parents my fufu everyone is constantly telling me to cut my hair. They even told me they will cut my hai if I don’t…. They might be joking (I don’t think so) so I wanted to ask what’s wrong with growing hair is it some kind of taboo or bad practice in Nepal …. ( If you are parents plz tell me what’s wrong with growing hair??)

Kei bad practice hoina chapri dekhinxa vanera darako hola. Also, long hair is super inconvenient, purai jharirahunxa. Tori dekhiraxau vaney kata, hansi dekhyeko xau vaney rakha🤷♂️
yedi tauko ko kapal ho vaney ta it’s harmless. Don’t know why they gotta be so pressed at you 4 no reason.
I’d guess it is the discomfort they feel when you make choices they wouldn’t make (in this instance it is the length of your hair). It could also be a fear of judgment they anticipate will come their way from other relatives/neighbors. Another could be fear that you are onto a negative path (perhaps they negatively associate long hair with drugs, etc.) and they worry about you. I don’t know if you were looking for a suggestion, but it might help to acknowledge these probable emotions in them to give yourself a better chance at being understood.
Sabai ko yestai ho 12 pass garera sab le paldai xan ama bau KO Gali sundai xan

cut your relations, not your hair
Before getting a haircut: Go and Get a haircut
After getting haircut: you were looking better before. Why did you cut it?
