Why do they judge me that way?

Why do they judge me that way?

Just a day ago, I was buying Vaseline & sunscreen at Kalanki. Usually, I use my sister’s Vaseline and sunscreen. Then a mature and older looking couple came to the same shop, and the woman said to me “Aajkal nepal ma western calture teenagers haruma papular hudai x, haina vai😏😏”. At the same time, the men were also laughing at me.
I was like, what😕? Literally embarrassing 😩and confusing. I couldn’t say anything.

  1. Lol, they judge us for taking care of ourselves, ani budheskal lagyo bhanera ni tei aunty uncle haru karaucha.

Nothing to be ashamed of for taking care of your skin. I kept telling my parents to use sunscreen but they say “kaslai dekhauna cha ra?”

  2. Because Nepali people are judgmental af. Random aunties feel entitled to comment on my clothes, my body, my hair etc. It happens all the time. Ignore them and move on. People like that are not even worth wasting your thoughts on.

  3. Only if people knew that sunburns are literally radiation burns.

Xray garda bad huncha vanne nepali haru everyday gham ma hidna chai bad hudaina vanthanchan.

Next time tell them that the most common cancer is skin cancer and sunscreen is the best way for its prevention.

  4. I am single child, ani teej ya esto ma aama, mummy haru lai surprise garna man lagxa. Ani estai pasal haru ma gayera chura and all kinna parxa, the looks those people give are so awkward. Ajha aba kaile kai pad sakeko hunxa, I don’t even think there’s anything wrong about going to shop and buying a pad ni, tei ni manxe haru kya gari herira hunxa. Jati pade lekhya vane pani most nepali youth are still old fashioned and judgemental.

  5. The common reality facing common youth because of the huge gap between the generation and ideology of Nepali community, also toxic narrative provided by nepali media, well we are just following binary concept from generation to generation

  6. Let people laugh, at the end of the day whatever keeps you happy. If caring your skin makes people laugh then let them laugh. Aba voli chora lai kt chyo vana feri khoja ramri nai ho. Vasline ra Sunscreen launa kt jati ne ramri vaya ne china ta pakki vandinan holan ne.
