Why do Nepali people hate facial hair?

Why do Nepali people hate facial hair?

Idk, I am trying to grow out a fuller beard. Everyone in my family and every time we go to a Nepali function, elders are always making comments about how I should be clean shaven and it’ll look better. It’s weird because all my American friends think I look better with facial hair. My GFs Punjabi and she wants me to grow it out as well. But damn my family is giving me so much shit about it I am kind of confused why Nepali people are having so much problem with facial hair. Also some of my Nepali female friends on social media also said I don’t look that good with a beard too, so is that just not a attraction thing in Nepal as well?

  1. finally seeing a guy with a punjabi gf lol. mero ni beard xa ramrai and my family and friends(both male and female) like it. timro family and friends ma matra hola (or maybe u just don’t look good with your beard).

  2. My father in law gives me sarcastic comments if I don’t shave for a day or two. I generally like 3-4 day old stubbles : that’s my default style. He always says the same thing: “jwai lai sancho chaina”? No mf this is my style.

  3. only thing to be concerned abt is ifyou look good with a beard!
you wanting to grow it out is your choice nonetheless.
i do have a fuzzy beard as a 19 y/o and my parents ask me not to trim it and grow it out but i don’t think it suits me so i just have a mustache and a goatee. at the end of the day what you actually want is what matters

  4. A nicely well maintained beard is fucking sexy but but but I have seeen men with nasssty beard. I’d not kiss a man until I see him how he washes his face and beard.
At the end what you like matters. Do you!

  5. A lot of Nepali people can’t grow a beard to genetical reasons. So they banned beards socially by common informell agreements. Just by adjusting beauty Standards. You can find stuff like that in all cultures. Like people ranting over stuff, they would Like to, but can’t do by themselves. It’s “Projektion” in psychological behavior patterns. Like overly homophobic people, being secretly gay themselves. So If you would like to grow a beard, but can’t, you start ranting over people doing so, because secretly it’s unjust for you.

  6. Testo xaina yar…I’ve been keep beard from 17.. no one has any problem with that..mum lai teti manpardaina dad loves it though…baru mangol sathi le chai manparaunan fori dekxa vanxan but i just love full beard

  7. Not all Nepalese people hate facial hair, it just depends on the preference, I have many girl and boy friends who prefer men with facial hair while I and many other fellow girls and boys aren’t that fond of it,you can never satisfy everyone, so just go with what you love,as long as your facial hair is hygienic and well maintained you’ll find many people who will appreciate your hair.

  8. People are generally clean shaven in Nepal. I think it’s always been the norm. It’s only “hulyaha” and “patrakaar” types that keep facial hair. My wife didn’t like it at first as well. It was a strong no. After years and years of keeping it, I think she now prefers me keeping it as well. Your family and friends are just not used to seeing you with facial hair. Give them time, they’ll come around. And you’ll know if they haven’t come around when you make some poor judgement calls in the future or any blunder, and they’ll immediately go, “Daari paalya pani herda swaath jasto”.

  9. Style it properly at barbers. They just hate the beard to look like Muslim. If the beard style is very nice and distinct and definitely not shabby muslim looking then I am sure they would approve.

  10. Some people look better with facial hair some people look better without. I think i fall in the latter category as well. For some reason my jaw looks better when clean. I am also told that i look younger if i shave my beard. And people think i am the younger one between me and my sister. I have noticed that punjabis look better with beard as well, when it isn’t their thing for most Nepalese.

  11. war on drugs, when we were forced to ban hippies, our king prohibited the looks that would indicate you as a “hippie” i.e.: beard, mullets, long hair, baggy clothes. They soon started to throw propaganda on how bad marijuana is and people who look a certain way.

  12. This is related to psychology.
Budapaka baccha huda sabbai le kapal junga dari kateko naramro vaninthyo gunda khate le matra junga dari rakhxa vaninthyo
Neat and clean sahaj asal manxe ko junga dari hunxa vaninthyo 30 35 barsa samma yeii kura thik ho vanera aairako manxe haru they cannot accept dari junga looks better
Elders are more Resistance to change
