  1. Not only that, now many Tibetans and people who originate from those regions claim they are Janajati and mulbasi of Nepal while others are immigrants and refugees.

  2. As someone said above, most of the Tibetan refugee come from the aristocratic family. The class divisions in the Tibet was so insane that they made common Tibetans slave and starve to death. Until Mao came and drove these aristocrats away from Tibet and liberated them from feudalism.
Tibet is very much part of China. That’s why Free Tibet movement is funded by the CIA because they hate what the CPP did to their aristocratic grandparents. So you will never see any “poor” Tibetan refugee as they brought lots of gold and stones with them.
Hence they look down on “poor” Nepali people.

  3. Most Tibetans I know are from Dehradun, very chill and regular people just like the average urban Nepali.

I just find it absurd how their culture worships a living man as a Godly figure who can predict his own reincarnation.

  4. I grew up around Tibetan kids and let me give my two cents.

Tibetans are extremely proud of their culture and background. Basically proud of being a Tibetan in the first place. They’re united and work as a community. You’ll see a similar trait in Sherpa community as well. There’s a hint of pride when they talk about people from their ethnic background.

Similarly, I never once saw a Tibetan, date or marry outside of their ethnic group. It happens, but extremely rare scene.

Most Tibetans think that Nepalese people are uncultured, and it is a sad truth. Most Tibetans upkeep themselves immaculately, (except for most old generation village people). They look squeaky clean in appearance, are strict in terms of business and wherever possible, only do businesses with people of their community.
