Food in pathao is absurdly priced. Maybe restaurants bata they charge some percentage so the restros put high price.
Also, never have I had a good experience ordering from pathao. Bhoj was better.
Pathao charges 20%. that’s why restaurants add 20%.
Now compare 20 percent on top of 4-10 bucks for an order that we pay for doordash and ubereats order in the US. I’m surprised pathao hasnt followed suits.
Restaurants always overprice their dishes because of costs. Ingredients, employee pay, rent, etc. And majority of restaurants here are just in it for the money and not providing a culinary experience. Better to pick and choose where to eat from, by personal experience or through genuine reviews from people you know. Even better, cook the dishes you want by yourself.
The more a food gets closer to ur mouth the more expensive it gets.
If u get all the ingridients it comes cheap but as it goes through people who hanfle different part of producyion the price keeps going up.
Honestly, the price of food in Nepal is amazingly affordable given the price of the ingridients, oil, spice and fuel.
But that siad, pathao and food delivery apps suck in general. Buying food on those app only lines the pockets of the app owners by taking it from the pocket of the consumer, the restaurant/establishment and the delivery person.
Restaurant ko ambience ko ni charge huncha ni ta. Sasto momo ta bhatti ma paucha.
Momo tastes far better in a random local hotel than in any fancy restaurant.

i’m sure i’m gonna get a lot of hate for this but i personally prefer momo from ali ramro restaurant and would rather pay upto 400 for a plate.local thau ko ta malai momo ko smeel nai bear garna nasakne huncha,i like my momo with thin wrap and little keema but most of the local places have boso bhako motto motto.

You want to have someone deliver food to your doorstep using a third party app and want it for the restaurant price? They add a surcharge first because pathao takes a certain percentage from them so they pass it on to customers.
Not all are like that. For example karma momo is the same price on bhoj app.
