TU’s ranking has declined to 1201-1500 from the previous 801-1000.
Compare that with our neighbors, China’s Tsinghua is ranked 12th, India’s Indian Institute of Science is ranked 201-250.
Among the ranked nations in South Asia, Nepal stands at the lowest pedestal.
What do you think the reasons might be? What might be the solutions?

TU deserve this ranking the way it takes 4 years to release one result. In that year the education from that degree will be outdated.
TU needs major restructuring. it is more like just another substandard sarkari office rather than University.
The old professors (retired one) were excellent communicator and intelleuct. now only few holds that standard most seems like is there because of party ko kripa.
TU has gone to shit basically. Few more years and there won’t be enough students to enroll in a particular program. The students in our program has collapsed to 72 students from 99 in just three semesters. Bhagwan janos TU ko haalat k hunxa aba.
China’s Tshingua university was ranked above stanford,mit,caltech when I last checked in some of the world ranking sites
TU honestly has destroyed the standard of higher education in nepal,it’s made the meaning of “teaching” too literal,but hey who cares about rankings?TU takes pride in being one of the largest universities by enrollment

Gone the days when we could compare ourselves with China or India…. We should know where we stand and what are these 2 countries as they stand on par with world superpower or economy… As our past generation has seen India and China only as the emerging economy we still tend to think that way but the China is on par with US and India has huge support of west.

I’m glad I was adamant on not studying in this shitty university. This decline in ranking is not surprising at all. Anyone going abroad or in abroad will come to realise that any degree from this university has no value on a global context during job application. Nepal ma matra kaam lagcha TU ko degree.
That’s a sugar-coated value.
There is no way TU is 1201-1500 in the whole world.
Should be around 3000 at least.
