For the future of our Nepal, a good move

For the future of our Nepal, the Government had to take action and they so did by banning on TikTok, it was a sudden decision but a very good one. I support this 100%.

We all know the extreme corruption of our country. We mostly blame the Government but never to ourselves.

Not only our youth generation but every age of the people has been wasting so much time on these nonsense social media such as TikTok, Instagram, even Facebook.

What do we actually learn? Other than watching some strangers and celebrities shaking the booty?

Those with massive views earn for themselves, their life may become better and won’t even care at all to their viewers/supporters and their earnings won’t add any goodness or contribute to our economy.

Yet some people ask for their freedom, their rights. This is all for their either business (avoiding tax) or time pass entertainment. Nothing else.

We Nepalese have to do real job and work hard. Even if there is no job, we have to volunteer on our spare time, helping the local society whether it’s maintenance or even cleaning the streets, parks, garden, the community work together.

Our country will suffer the worst if we Nepalese don’t work real but just passing the time on social media watching the strangers acting stupid and goofy. Most of us should know these examples by now, such as, 60 years ago, Nepal and Malaysia had same number of airlines, now look at them and look at us. Nepalese people work there cleaning their airlines and airport toilets.

60 years ago, South Korea was poorer than Nepal, now look where they have reached. There are some videos on YT about how South Koreans developed their country in such a short period of time. It’s their dedication, hard work, Not like us Nepalese keep praising ourselves to foreigners and telling how proud we are to our country all the time yet no foreigners care at all about such crap (they probably must be laughing so hard inside)

Once so called the top agricultural country of the world and look how low we have become. We have to rely on our neighbors just to eat our daily food. If they block for 6 months, some Nepalese will even die of hunger. Will you still be watching TikTok if your fellow Nepalese is struggling to survive? I bet most will do. We have become way too selfish and greedy just for our personal satisfaction.

Banning on tiktok and Instagram should be permanent. 100% for sure for the sake of our future Nepal.

Note: Hahaha that was nice replies but I actually do not care and more importantly, my opinion does not hurt anyone. I know most Nepalese are backwards even with this modern generation and this post will be legend after many years.

  1. “What do we actually learn? Other than watching some strangers and celebrities shaking the booty?”.
You do realize the algorithm feeds you what you usually engage with right? So there might be a reason why your feeds are filled with booty shaking.

“Our country will suffer the worst if we Nepalese don’t work real but just passing the time on social media”
The irony is you are passing your time on reddit as well. A slacker will always find a way to slack off if he doesn’t have any motive to work bruv.

I’m really enjoying how you are trying to connect the reason for every major problem of our nation is “TikTok”.

Nope it’s not the ghuss khaney karmachari ra neta, Nope it’s not our education, politics? Tyo ta hundai haina, It’s “Tiktok” the app made by ancient devil of china from hell himself as he had conspired a devious plan to destroy Nepal since the beginning of time, why? Because Nepal couldn’t compete with Malayasian Airlines.

  2. LMAO no.

If youth is wasting their time on social media, it is because there is a lack in discipline. Companies capitalize on our behaviour. If we are unable to control ourselves, the things you need to ban is endless. Baned tiktok? “Youth” will migrate to reels. Ban reels? YT shorts. The platforms are endless.

Its also bad for the economy as a whole. There are dozens of businesses that depend on social media. Like the small retailers who can’t take the risks to advertise widely. There are other companies that sprout up due to presence of social media. There are management companies that manage these influencers whose business depends on these social media.

There’s also the freedom aspect. Being able to openly speak and put your views forward is an important aspect of living in a democracy which these apps allow. Banning these apps is somewhat limiting that freedom. Although being able to openly speak is a double edged sword, unable to control hatespeech doesn’t mean you ban a platform because it reflects a flaw within the government.

    This ban is senseless.

  3. Wait, I forgot something. When was the tender of taking responsibility of what everyone does given out to the government or any person?

We are messed up for so many reasons, but pretty sure none of the reasons have anything to do with using any particular apps. Live and let leave. Also, it is moot to compare countries in terms of what they do. Just so you know, South Korea realised not to place nose in personal affairs of people and abolished adultery related laws in 2015. Now, please tell me we should scrap that too.

  4. Eso garum, entertainment nai ban gardim. Internet, Cinema, TV, etc. je po hoss, sabb ban gardim ani law le nai voluntary labor lai compulsory banaidim. TV ra newspaper ma country related news matrai awos, freedom of speech nai regulated hoss.

  5. You are so dumb. At least people were making a living off of it and if you hated the app that much you could have easily not downloaded or ignored it. Nepal is going to be empty with everyone moving abroad because the little platforms they had to make money are being shut down by the government.

  6. Nepal govt reasoning for banning Tiktok is that it “disrupts social harmony” but I see Facebook and YouTube, even X doing that. So, why not ban all of these social media apps too? The answer is regulation of social media apps, not its ban like we are a dictatorship.

  7. Kuch bhi. Why not ban reddit as well, there are so many degenerate shit here than whole of tiktok, why not Insta, i mean its just soft core porn now. Just show tits and ass and you’ll get a lot of followers.

  8. Please Nipple Sarkaar ban internet and other social medias too. Yesle purai propaganda nai banda hunxa and Nepal will be lumber 1 country in the entire world. /s

  9. E-commerce ra electricity ko difference nabhujne neta haru ko janata ho bhanera OP le yo post le aaja prove nai garyo. Usai pare solti sake samme US Australia natra Canada bhaye ni jana ready hola haina?

Information and digital age ma access to information block garne step lai endorse garne janata lai Oli Prachande ra Deuba jasto neta ekdum sahi cha. Canada Australia le PR dina chadyo re unskilled students harulai , tyahi pani tyaha gayera bau aamale kama ko saab paisa sakkayera 2-4 barsa ma farkinu parihalcha, tespachi dekha jayega haina ta? Tiktok banda garera South Korea huncha bhanne murkha haru le bhariyeko desh ma Prachande Oli ra Deuba bhanda best neta hunai sakdaina 😄😄😄

  10. TikTok was banned because the monarchy was very popular on TikTok. Mass movements, organizations formed, rallies being organized on the app.

The current establishment fears the growing rajabadi movement and they are trying to control it.

  11. I don’t have TikTok but I don’t support banning it or any such platform. TikTok is just a content platform. It is up to each user to consume what type of content they want and how much time they want to use it.
I am sure there needs to be strict regulation regarding some type of content and tax but banning the whole platform is not right.
Social media is very important now because it has become a source of alternative news and information. It can be used to create awareness and call upon people to volunteer for social causes if used correctly.

  12. Sahi ho bro. Aba movies, songs, YouTube, TV sab ban hannu parxa.Teti matra haina aba Dating, premarital sex, athletics, sab ban hannu parxa.Hamra Youth yestai kura ma distract vako vayera Desh Nabadhya ho. Navai ta Singapore,Korea jastai hunthyo.

  13. Just banning stuffs WILL NOT fix anything. People will find other ways to get distracted. And we do learn, there are plenty of educational accounts in tiktok, youtube everywhere, strangers shaking ass will pop up if u interact with such content. Banning is just lazy and ineffective. I don’t think banning porn decreased rape cases either.

  14. This was one of the lamest reasons I have heard regarding this issue. Time waste garnele jasari pani garcha, tiktok nai chaidaina. Eutako decision sabaimathi without valid reason thopna mildaina. Tiktok is not merely used to dance, and even if it is what are you so butthurt? Dance ta tvma pani herincha. Tikok also is an easy access to news and has helped boost so many livelihoods, its used for getting information easily too. Just because you cant find the use of it doesn’t mean you generalise its misuse.

  15. who let bro cook.

You should have volunteered, helped the local society whether its maintenance or even cleaning steers, parks, garden or the community instead of writing this

  16. Oh, absolutely! Let’s go all-in and ban not just TikTok but also throw mobile phones into the sacrificial bonfire of progress. Who needs those pesky devices, anyway? Imagine the revolutionary leap in socio-economic development. Efficiency at its finest! think about all the idle hands with free time.

  17. You have very shallow arguments which doesn’t hold. For me it is a question of setting a bad precedent and focus on banning rather than some form of regulation. I’m not a fan of such kind of autocratic moves.

  18. Oh gee why are you free? You should be in chain as slave to build our nation like how US did with blacks. Your freedom? What are you talking about? For developing our nation we MUST chain you up as free labour and slowly then we can develop our nation. All you need to do is give up your freesom.

  19. I agree with you 100%. To those saying the algorithm caters to individual preferences, consider this: if you’re interested in woke content, that’s what you’ll see on your feed. Consequently, encountering insightful content being banned can be frustrating for you. However, it’s essential to recognize that your preferences don’t represent the majority of the population in Nepal. You constitute barely under 10% of the demographic. The remaining 90% gravitate towards different content, such as ‘booty shaking’ videos, engaging in mindless scrolling day by day, gradually losing their focus.

Even if you don’t engage in the ridiculous dances prevalent on TikTok, you still belong to the minority that refrains from doing so. The majority, constituting the other 90%, does participate. Consider this perspective and think about the majority. Notably, almost 50% of this demographic might comprise children. This is a concerning aspect of this app. While you, as a woke individual, can seek similar content on Google, YouTube, Instagram, or rely on TED Talks, the issue lies with the 90% glued to this app’s nonsensical content.

I don’t concern myself with the government’s motives for their actions, but their decision to address TikTok’s negative impact on the population appears sound. The 90% demographic overshadows the 10% of woke viewers. So cut the crap and broaden your perspectives and acknowledge the existence of people with different preferences and habits than yours.
