Bro, tmle kun St. Xavier’s join garya hau?. Maitighar ko ho ki Jawlakhel ko. Kina ki as far as I know, maile 2 barsa kaile ni assembly maa line basnu parena. Ma chahi maitighar ko SXC bata yo barsa matra graduate vako ho. Tmi varkhari ta join gardai xau. Malai ni join huda first first maa testai lagya thyo, aile graduate vaera I can confidently say it was the best 2 years of my life. Here’s what made SXC so special to me:
1. Academics
As far as academics is concerned, SXC ko exams are the toughest. I say this because maile aru private colleges haru ko question paper ra SXC ko compare garya xu. The difference in difficulty is astronomical. Suru suru ma malai ni lyang lagya thyo. Ma Class 10 maa 3.95 GPA lyaeko manxe Class 11 ko final internal exam maa direct 3.55 ma jharey. Tara espali 12 ko board maa mero 3.87 GPA aako xa. Maile kaile pani SXC ko internal maa 3.7 vanda mathi hanna sakeko thyena. SXC le 2 barsa eti pelyo ki board exam ta lastei sajilo lagyo malai. I have friends from SXC who failed in internal exams but got A+ in board.
2) Scholarships
Aile varkhari classes suru vayeko ho vane immediately scholarship paaudainau. Wait for a few weeks ani scholarship ko notice aauxa for need-based and meritorious students. Huna ta scholarship bina nai SXC ekdam affordable xa. My cousin’s fee in United College is Rs. 7 lakhs approximately. SXC ko 2 barsa ko only 2.5 lakhs matra ho which is so much cheaper than other private colleges. Tyo private colleges le dine scholarship pani tmro academic performance maa varr parxa. Yedi academically khaskyo vane, tmro scholarship pani chait hunxa. This is not the case in SXC. Scholarship paayepaxi 2 barsa ko lagi nai paauxau.
3) ECA
Bro +2 paxi nai US jani ho vane SXC is one of the best colleges you can end up. SXC has an excellent club culture. US maa try garna lai you need to have good ECAs. SXC maa there are 10+ clubs you can choose to join and each club organizes at most 2 programmes each year. Tmi programs haru maa participate garera you can build a good portfolio. Plus, tmi club ko executive position ko lagi ni apply gara. As an alumni, I know from first hand euta club president le kati ko matra respect paauxa vanera. It will be a good boost to your portfolio for foreign studies. Global College of Science, which is one of the most sought after +2 college in Nepal, has I think less than 5 clubs. Yaha ko ECA culture is one of the reasons SXC ko alumni haru Princeton, Stanford jasta top unis padhdai xan.
4) Freedom
SXC has the best approach to studying, that is it allows a lot of freedom to its students. Tmro grades check garne, hw check garne, notes check garne koi pani hudaina. Private colleges maa notes complete na vayera exam nai dina na paayeko saathi haru ko experience ni suneko xu maile. In SXC, the approach to studying is that you must learn to be independent in your life and that includes studying as well. Kei na padhera 1st term maa balla talla 3.44 GPA lyaeko dukha ajhei yaad xa malai. Tara tei setback le mero mutu maa aago jalaidyo ra I vowed to myself that I would improve my studies. Esari mero academics started to improve gradually.
5) Friends
What I experienced was, a lot of my classmates came from a village background where the quality of education was not the best. So, I can understand when you say ” top minds of nepal rey basic 10 ko kura ta ramro sanga jandinan classmates yo vhanda mero purano school ko classmates dehari talent theya”. Tara bro tmi varkhar join garera 2 barsa maa euta student ko kati progress hunxa vanera thaha hudaina. Give it time and you will see how talented your friends really are.

TLDR: OP has just enrolled into SXC and has not fully understood why SXC is SXC after all. I had the same feeling as OP two years ago but my perception of SXC changed after I graduated and I feel immensely grateful to have studied there now.
St. Xavier’s have like one of the best resources for extra curricular activities as far as I have seen. A lot of peeps from there get tons of scholarship abroad because of the stellar extra curriculars. Aba padhai taa thaha vayena kasto huncha, didn’t study there.
aru ta regret nai ho timi saluja maam sanga chai chinjana garai rakha. bidesh jane bhaye atti nai help hunchha. essai office ma gayera hello/goodmorning bhane pani nice nai ho. timel sxc chaadepachhi pani you can go back to her, tesaile its so home.
Kun St.Xaviers bhanya ho, hamro maitighar ko ma ta Kahile line lagna parena ta
You’ve started your journey. Think on the bright side, you might have better chances of exposure, better job and abroad opportunities.
Ani fees hamro batch samma(2021-2023) 220k thiyo 2 years ko no hidden fee, teacher haru ni ramro hunthyo+ never felt pressured from teachers , best 2 years of my life. Plus ramailo gari gari 3.8+ gpa ayo 12 ko board ma
SXC ma ta sunday for 11 and Monday for 12 matra assembly hunthyo ta. Jawalakhel SXC ho ra?
Whatever name and fame you hear is mostly about SXC maitighar. It’s good there not just for Extra Curricular activities but in general nai.
When I was in SXC, there was no note system unless it was extremely necessary in which case we were given handouts which we photocopied to distribute. You basically learn how to learn while you do the learning. If you’re spoon fed, you’d have a hard time in university.
Everyone’s trying to get some traction in initial days but things get serious right after the first exam. Then you’d actually find out who are good and who are not.
I never had friends until I met people I did in SXC
Kinda older alumni but didn’t have assembly daily and from comments it seems there are not either currently. For me morning assembly was fun, listening stories, moral values etc.
Teachers were great really, I especially liked physics and organic chemistry theacher. I enjoyed nepali classes as well. The students also were great then. Some teachers were kinda not that great but majority whom I didn’t like were new.
Not sure if we are talking about same SXC because I absolutely love my 2 years there and those years definitely have benefitted me.
Damn, i was also in a same boat 3/4 yrs ago regretting leaving scholarship of other colleges. The only difference happened to me was that i felt lost in the crowd of toppers.
The only thing i liked there was a library. It was huge and so well managed. So utilize it upto your extents. Besides, if you are among the “toppers” do participate in the olympiads(i hope these things still happening there) and other extra curricular activities. You can improve yourself public speaking skills grabbing different opportunities given by college.
Padney vaya maitighar ko st.xavier
Napadney vaya Godawari ko st.xavier
Simple👌
Which st. Xavier u talking about here btw?
Lol… Talented by mind just choose some good reputed clg within their proximity… St Xavier consists of those who rote learned the whole book in the 3 month holidays… Leaving 100% scholarship is the worst decision you made…Xavier fee is about 3,50 or 4 L could have bought a MacBook and ipad for studies … Good luck
St. Xaviers maa ni assembly hunchha ra. Mero batch maa ta one of the coolest was Xaviers, no uniform and only thing was they had strict attendance record.
The college has its merits and demerits. If you are one of them teachers pet kinda student then of course that place will be a paradise for you, but don’t expect the same stuff to fly by in the real world. I was a student who you’d say “Not the one who’s fall on the goody two shoes spectrum”, and that institute (SXC Maitighar) tried its hardest to instill their philosophy in me and every-time it failed to do so. They clearly make you an outcast if you do not play by their books. But there were teachers who were kind to me and made my life in SXC less stressful. Someone mentioned Saluja Mam and I agree. She has this dry sarcasm tone to her but inside, she is one of the sweetest person. Tldr, if you are one of them rule abiding, studious and non problematic student with zero tendencies to have problems with the authorities, that place is cool; but if you want them ACE and British college kinda student life then this place ain’t it for you.
I graduated from SXJ (St.Xavier’s Jawalakhel) High School. Love the place.
