I am citizen of Nepal only, and still hold Nepali passport. But, few of my friends are asking about NonResident Citizenship.
Now that the act is there to issue NonResident Citizenship, I am wondering do people holding NonResident citizenship get to visit Nepal without visa? Do, they still require NRN ID to visit without a visa?
I have read that NonResident citizens get to exercise every right except the political right (to cast a vote), but nowhere have I seen a document stating visa free stay while in Nepal. Can some of you share a link if you have that?

From my understanding, NonResident Citizenship is similar to permanent resident or Green card holder status in Nepal. Not sure about the Visa requirement but if and when you get the NonResident Citizenship, visa requirement should be waived else it will defeat the main purpose of this status. Correct me if I am wrong since this is a recently passed act and I also need more clarity.
Nice to hear about non-resident Nepali citizenship. I’ve been waiting for this shit for a long time, esp with a clause of barring them from holding any governmental posts or participating in political elections.
With that said, why would a citizen need a visa to enter or leave the country during peace time?
