The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced a significant hike in the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene, effective from Monday midnight.
According to a press note issued by the NOC, the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene have been increased by three rupees per litre each, in response to the rise in petroleum prices as communicated by the Indian Oil Corporation.
Under the new pricing structure, petrol will now cost Rs 178 per litre, while both diesel and kerosene will be sold at Rs 161 per litre.
The decision to adjust fuel prices reflects the NOC’s commitment to aligning local prices with international market trends, ensuring sustainability and efficiency in the fuel sector.
However, this price hike may impact consumers and various sectors reliant on fuel, necessitating adjustments in budget allocations and expenditure plans.
The NOC continues to monitor global oil markets and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to maintain stability and transparency in fuel pricing, aiming to mitigate adverse impacts on the economy and consumers.
