Let’s see whether Nepalese love TIKTOK or they hate it. Many people see TitTok as a disease to society while other see it as an integral freedom of expression, opportunity for educators/entertainers/tourism and so on.

I personally never used it or downloaded it. But I’ve seen a lot of toxicity from the app. People do silly things/ dances for views, likes and attention. Seeing kids these days constantly glued to their phones instead of interacting and playing with each other is quite sad. I don’t thinking banning would solve the issue but limiting screen time usage would be hugely beneficial.
Banning it will set precedent for hampering the integrity of freedom and democracy
>Let’s see whether Nepalese love TIKTOK or they hate it
I don’t love tiktok. I’ve never used it. But I think tiktok shouldn’t be banned.
Most Nepali haru ko problem nai yei k, kasaile critically sochdai sochdaina. Aanfule use nagarni or hate garni kura ban vaye sab khusi vayera ufrinxan, aanfu le use garni/love garni kura ban vaye risaunxan. Aailye pubg ban vako vaye tiktokers haru ufrinthey hola. Emotionally matra sochni, aanfu lai man parey ramro aanfu lai man naparey naramro.
Imo, main problem vaneko nai democratic country ma government le kunai valid reason bina internet ma restriction lagaunu ho. Hijo vten ko geet ban grya thyo, aajha social media ban gardai xa, voli China ko jasto “Great Firewall” nalagaula vanna sakidaina. So, I think sabai jana yesko against ma bolna parxa.
Ani arko kura tiktok disease ho vanni. Maile tiktok use tw garya xaina but malai tha vaye samma yesma 15s ko videos haru scroll garni ho, ani manxey live ni basxan kyare. Aba yesto social media haru design nai yesari vako hunxa ki yesko user le tni haru ko platform chalairakhos. Katti dherai psychological kura haru pani hunxa so tiktok matra “disease” haina, timro data liyera timlai personalized recommendations dini jun social media ni disease ho. Aba yo disease bata affected huni ki nahuni tyo aanfu ma var parni kura ho. Tiktok bata “samajik sadvab bigrini kaam” vo rey. Aba tiktok ban vayesi, fb bata hola, insta bata hola, youtube bata hola, k aba sabai ban hanni?
Personally, I don’t consume short form content so malai chai tiktok ban vayera kei farak pardaina but I’m still against this ban of tiktok.
Nepali leaders be like, “we are old idiots who know nothing about technology and how to use/navigate/control/monitor it so let’s just ban it.”
Time Pass ho tiktok ban garni decision. Tiktok matra xa discuss garnalai. Aru kei dekhdainan. Idc whether they ban it or not, aajkal tiktok tiktokma matra navara facebook ma insta ma youtube ma snap ma jataasukai xa.
it can be more addicting than drug
Nepali people were so focused on showing off on tiktok, even people in there 50’s, there should be empathy, love and harmony not comparison and show off and keep other’s in dark.
never even downloaded the app 😂
😅 थुक्क yes मा धेरै पोल औला भन्या त नो मा पौव धेरै रहेछ
youtube shorts, insta and fb reels……….
In my opinion Tiktok must not be banned instead it must be closely supervised by the IT professionals.
But what can we expect from a Government who don’t know difference between understood “E-commerce” as “Electricity Trade” 💀
I, myself used to consume educational content related to IT and keep them in “Favourite” section who were important and useful.
There were many Nepalese who used to post videos related to IT as well as other books recommendations.
There were many creators that used to post various places of Nepal with Tourism significance.
Also there are many, a tons of creators, most specifically girls, ranging from 12 years to 40+ years, posting the nude content.
Chaak hallaya xa, Cleavage dekhya xa, Boobs khelaya xa etc etc
Those mfs should be restricted or banned from the Tiktok or their content should be suggested to minimum people.
And the quality content creator should been promoted and pushed forward .
Well the algorithm of Tiktok is weird but yet Officials should have talked to Tiktok Team
I personally think that tiktok is an ok app but its terms and conditions make it extremely suspicious. So its good that it got banned. Tbh I hope some nepali company takes place in this new void for entertainment and earn some profit instead of some company abroad even if its a copy paste because it will lead to more employment of people here
Yes do it
This app is worse than COVID. See how Chinese won’t let their kids have it used except for educational purposes but the rest of the world, kids see all sorts of dramatic stupid tiktok things and they stop growing up as normal. I think we will not grasp the potential of this app in a negative aspect by just discussing here in this thread.
Ig not because dherai business haru pani tiktok bata chali rathyo ra people were earing rather than just leaving the country.
36 saal ko jastai referendum garum
Natal ho government ko they would again unbanned it.
Absolutely
My fyp page was so random but I have followed many content creators on tiktok. It was my reliable source for getting knowledge, tips and tricks and news.
I was able to learn programming tips, new vscode extensions to try and new features, learn new figma shortcuts and tips. Everything is gone with just blink. I know I can access titktok with VPN or private dns but this is just ridiculous.
Moderation is what we need not a whole ban. If you don’t like it you can skip or report and move ahead. But government is taking away our freedom.
it’s not only because they don’t know what they’re doing and even if they do this isn’t the area they should be focusing on.
Tiktok provides a platform for advertising so many people operated their business and livelihood through it. So banning wouldn’t do justice to many people
They didn’t go far enough. Should have done facebook, instagram, and reddit too.
Live feature on tiktok must be disabled thats where the worst and disgusting things of people is especially seen.
Yes
Yess , but users will probably switch to another platform if TikTok is banned.
The thing is, one of their moist party member shanti baral did shit thing in tiktok but decided to ban entire tiktok. Na afu le la baru naya platform banayera tictok haina hami yo chalauna protsahan dinchu po bhannu parcha, nepali government ta joke nai ho. Jail bata manche marera nikanla milne aba tictok chalauna na milne hawa. Freedom of speech ma bada puraunu ho yo. depressed bhako lai ali ali majja authiyo tap tap garnus rose fyalnus bhandai ali ali ta kamauthee ni na job dina sakne nepali janta lai ani ali ali social media le kamai huncha or dincha bhane ajja tyasma pani rok laune, atp kp ba was way cool and ahead infact he utilized the platform and proved it wrong.
of course we hate the cringy stuff on that app and all that, but it was one of the first site to truly be accessible to the masses of nepal, something about short video content was so good that even older people were on that app expressing whatever interested them, reddit isn’t accessible to people like that. I do not like the all out ban but I do wish that tiktok had been regulated enough.
Insta jasto comment section chahinxa. Sab thik hunxa.
Ban tiktok, an opportunity will be created for the alternate software. This is not a long term solution.
Why are we banning tiktok? Cringe, stupid videos creation for view, likes? Well, someone is seeing and liking those videos right? You see the problem here?
Tiktok is not the problem, it’s people using them. We lack awareness.
Jasto cringe hane pani gorvernment le vanda badi cool boy ra ansh verma jasto tiktoker haru le garecha j hos chaiyeko haru lai tiktok bata aako paisa le nai donate ta garchan kamsekam
Outright banning the app is totally wrong and shows ulterior motive without any proofs. This app provided alot of marketing platform as well informative content. Ofcourse there has been contents that are not favourable to everyone but everything has its own purpose for each individual – does not mean you ban it. Tiktok probably has the best targeting mechanism for contents which no other app has due to which it had alot of potential for marketing contents..
So prolly this administration is just following the indian footsteps where india has a really big concern of why they should ban tiktok but in Nepal there isnt much.
