Guys can you recommend a simple yet effective skincare routine for someone with oily and acne prone skin who is currently using tretinoin 0.025?? I always see people suggesting products that are too expensive and cannot be easily available in Nepal….

I used to have acne during my teenage years, but I don’t have it now. Currently, I am using tret 0.05 for the past 4 months or so. Talking about my skin type, I have an oily skin. My skincare routine looks like this:
Morning:
1. Cleanse with Cetaphil cleanser
2. Niacinamide serum (DermaCo)
3. Vitamin C serum (DermaCo)
4. Moisturizer (any moisturizer will do as long as it doesn’t make your face too oily. Use a gel based moisturizer)
5. Sunscreen (Gel based, SPF 50 by FixDerma)
Evening:
1. Cleanse
2. Niacinamide
3. Tretinoin + Azelaic Acid cream (optional) mixed with moisturizer. I am using azelaic acid for my melasma and hyperpigmentation. Even if you don’t have these skin conditions, you can still use it.
P.S.: I used tret 0.025 before using 0.05. It took about 2 weeks for my skin to get used to it. Plus, never ever forget to put on sunscreen even if you are staying at home all day. While going outdoors, reapply every 3-4 hours.)
Not a guy who does a lot but for oily acne prone skin :

Don’t crowd your skin. You have to start slow. You cant incorporate all the chemicals at once. Start with a gentle cleanser. Dermshield is a good brand. Then use a good moisturizer. Preferably gel based for oily skin. And then in the morning apply SPF 50 sunscreen that too gel based.
Based on how your skin reacts to this, you can start adding vitamin C in your morning routine and Retinol at night. But if you are using tretinoin, you don’t need to use retinol.
Have you seen a dermatologist or started using Tret on your own?
Moisturizer and sunscreen in the morning. Moisturizer in the night. Wash with face wash in the night before moisturizer. Tretinoid in the night, these products should be enough for now. Start slowly. I saw your comment in the other section and that sounds enough especially if you have acne. Don’t forget sunscreen in the day
Read the comments, that you were using adapalene too. How much did you use it? I too have oily, acne prone skin. But because I used adapalene gel inaccurately, it turned my skin sensitive.
Best case, consult a dermatologist before introducing these active ingredients.
