My father(M 72 years old) has been having problem of “dry cough” since past 2 years. And no it isn’t normal cough which you get once in a while. It is really bad, so much that he isn’t able to breathe properly at times.
1 and half years samma testo besi thiyena. Control bhairako thiyo. But recent 6 months ma ekdam extreme bhako chha. Butwal check garako alli din control bhaye jastai bhayo tara feri ustai halat bhayo. He went for alot of follow ups butwal mai and got checked. X-rays, blood report, ECG sabai clear chha bhanchha.
FYI he doesn’t have any other health issue. He never had it. He is a healthy man else wise. He has been exercising since he was 19 years old every day and eats proper diet, he is fit.
Butwal na bhayesi Palpa, Prabhas check garako. Tya pani sabai reports clear chha bhanera same dabai diyo. Tyo dabai le ta kei niko bhakai chhaina jhan. 1 month bhaisakyo.

Dr. Ramesh Chokhani is the best pulmonary doctor you can find in Nepal. He is in Norvic. But he is a busy man. So you have to take appointment months prior.
My request to everyone commenting !
If you aren’t a certified medical personnel, don’t just assume and comment anything on hunch. Help him or don’t comment.

Did he have pulmonary function test before and after bronchodilator? He may have a form of reactive ariway disease that could be treated with a bronchodilator and/or inhaled steroids.
Dr Udip at Lumbini medical college is not a lung specialist but a reliable and good physician.
This is my input from the USA..
My Grandfather also had similar symptoms. Went to a lot of hospitals. One doctor asked for a TB test and boom that was the cause. After taking medication, he became healthy again. Did your father got tested for TB?
Sounds like asthma to me. Might be wrong, but yeah definitely something to consider. He might need to be put on cortisteroids for some time to control the extreme cough.
My father literally saved by Dr. Chokani in. Norvic Hospital few yrs back.
My cousin dry cough was also healed getting medicine from him.
bir ma ni ramro xa, dr prajwol vanne hunuhunxa ktm nai jane vae chai, grande ma ni hernuhunxa if you can afford
Consult a proper doctor.
As far as I can see, it must be something he is allergic to. Maybe Dust or anything. Try some healthy home remedies and see if it gets any better. But, also get him checked at a good hospital in Kathmandu.
Just go to medanta or any good hospital in India and get the right diagnosis rather than multiple folow.uos in butwal or any hospital in Nepal .
Medical student here,
I suggest you to show some DM pulmonologist. The symptoms that you are describing resembles cough variant asthma. I suggest you to show DM pulmonologist for precise diagnosis.
dr ramesh chokhani and dr arjun karki are good chest doctors in kathmandu
Cough can be result of many things. Problem in Nepal is the doctors are in so much hurry that they dont check properly all the aspect. Have you done GERD test, if not go do it. It can cause heavy dry cough. Also allergy is another reason. Xray is not enough you might want to do HRCT to see lung desease like Fibrosis.
