Getting a taste of real life, how every visit to Bir Hospital left me feeling let down

**Summary: OP complaining about how disobedient people are in public places. And how I had to waste so much of my time due to the employees there**

Korea-Nepal hospital referred me to Bir hospital because Korea-Nepal hospital didn’t had CT scan.

I am 19 and recently I have been trying to go to places on my own. It was my first time going to Bir hospital by myself and trying to do CT scan which is covered by national insurance.

*Day 1(Friday, I had just Rs 80)*

I got up quite early and walked for 20 minutes to Thimi before taking a microvan to RNAC. I arrived at the hospital. I asked the person there what to do and I took the token. The security guy there was indicating what number of token could wait in line. There were some very arrogant folks there. When it was not their turn, they were attempting to get their token. It would have been fair for everyone if they had agreed to arrive to pick up their ticket when it was their turn. The procedure could go quickly. While waiting there was a lady who asked about my Insurance card and we talked about how hard it would be for lower income Nepalese individual to get CT scan if they had to.

I, then, got my ticket. It took me a few minutes to locate the room that the ticket person had instructed me to go to. The doctor there wrote that I could get a CT scan there in my ticket. I walked right to the CT scanning facility, and the person there told me to get a date first and to go to room number 8.

And after the billing office, the women in room 8 are the worst. When I arrived, I gave them my ticket and informed them that I needed a CT scan. She instructed me to get a 5000 rupee receipt. It was at this moment that I realized that CT scans are not covered by my insurance.

I then called my mom to tell her that I needed Rs.5000. She told me to get home and go on Sunday.

*Costs: Rs. 80 two way fare, Rs 200 for ticket(covered my insurance)*

*Day 2(Sunday, I had Rs 5,100)*

I returned to the hospital. This time, I went straight to the billing office. Long and short lines both existed. If you have insurance, you should be in a shorter line; if you’re paying with cash up front, the wait is longer. Because I planned to pay with cash, I stood up in the larger queue. I believe Prabhu Bank is in charge of that billing location, and the women who worked there were really slow. People in line got in verbal fight with Prabhu banks employee. The newcomers would arrive and submit their tickets and payment right away by violating the line. People who were patiently waiting in line became rather angry.

I finally had my chance after standing for a very long time. After seeing that my ticket was insured, she instructed me to join the shouter queue (fuck me). I now believed that cash-paying insured individuals should remain in a shorter line. The short line had rather turned into longer line by now. When it was my turn, she instructed me to go to OPD for some reason, and I was like, “WTF?” After telling them what had happened, I relocated to room number 8, where they demanded that I return.

There was a clerk aunt in the billing room. She saw I was frustrated; I was so frustrated that when I ranted about this to a person in front of my line I used the M\*\*\*\* word there. I was so so mad that the word slipped from my mouth. I told her(clerk lady) everything I am insured bla bla and she asked for my insurance and told me I don’t have to pay to get my CT scan done. She put my insurance number there and found I still have got money left. I now had a hint as to what had happened. When I first showed the woman in room 8 my ticket, I assumed she had noticed that it clearly said that I was insured. I would have received a free CT scan that same day. Seeing I am doing back and forth between billing room and 8 the lady there said,”hya yo insurance ko ta k ho k, bekkar ma ako yesma kam garna”. Who the fuck even gave her the job. Those ladies wont talk to any body properly. They wont answer them properly even its there job. I know they get lots of questions but those people and I don’t visit there everyday to know every bit of information there.

I received my bill that day, and because I have insurance, it was now Rs. 8200 rather than Rs. 5000. I’m unsure if this is a scam against the government or against me. After that, I received a time of 3:30, but my turn didn’t happen until nearly 5. I arrived home that day at 7 p.m. People who came later me did there CT before then me.

*Costs: Rs. 80 two way fare, Rs 8200 for CT scan(covered my insurance), Rs. 90 for sugarcane juice and 150 for pineapples juice*

*Day 3(Wednesday)*

I was told that I receive my report today. I got there at 12 o’clock. And 12-1 was there break time. I had to waste an hour there. At that time, a large crowd was waiting for them. They were not staying in line. It was chaotic. I got my CT scan but not report. I went to reporting room and stood out for more than an hour to get it. I had planned to visit Korean hospital today but it was closing time for hospital.

  1. I can understand man. Hospitals suckass. The place is also overwhelmed and understaffed. And since the majority of full time employees are used to old ways, they remain a resistance to any major to change. Yo payment dekhin report samma lai online garne, digital banaune ani slot allocate garera sab ko time bachauna kati ko garo cha ra. Khasai garo chaina. Tara yesto garna lai fulltime employee haru ko work radically change garnu parcha, ani theyre not willing to do that

  2. khas ma ku dhulikhel refer garnuparne tya dherai sajilo xa insurance lai thimi bata teti tadha ni hunthena bext time kei garnupare tei refer garnu vanera request gara… teaching ra bir ma birami dherai manxe hunxa time lagxa…korea nepal hospital ni dhulikhel mai haina ra ki ku ma refer garna namilera ho

  3. That’s why everybody seeks government job. Government job is basically a high output institution with the lowest of input. That’s why people are dying to get there.

  4. I even been through the same that you went but in “gandaki medical college” every mf out there just wants to waste the time of the people who were there for fckin no reason.

What i heard was that there is rule for all those “nijamati karmachari” all the government can do is doing transfer whenever the government want to punish them. That’s why we have a mentality here “Ekchoti sarkari jagir pauna paye ta sab set”
