Ramailo was a tiktok clone app for Nepali community. It saw instant 10k+ downloads in very short time after tiktok was banned.
The app was very slow when i first tried after learning about it from a news. But it was getting faster and better everyday.
I dont know why the app is deleted from the play store now. I guess it was because google doesnt allow clone apps ?
Nevertheless it created a legacy in Nepali tech industry showing us the great potential for social media apps made for Nepali society.

What do you mean first ever. There are tonnes of other nepali social media apps which are not popular but they are there nonetheless. Anyway man the thing with tiktok is the huge community and the good algorithm that connect you to it. Like firstly you dont just look at nepali content there, you have your own niche sprinkled with popular nepali content here and there. Atleast for me. If it was all nepali content and none of my niche content id not be on tiktok. Secondly we may clone the external appearance and functioning of tiktok but the soul that finds the conent you want to see, do we have the data to make such and algorithm.
They probably underestimated how much of a server cost video oriented websites tend to rack up.

I actually emailed them few days back with some feedback and they actually were nice in the reply and said they’d listen to the feedback. Idk what happened but i kinda wanted to support a Nepali app.
