Cash or Gift to your sister / relatives ?

Cash or Gift to your sister / relatives ?

Even for those who don’t celebrate or without siblings, just a general question whether it is on festival day or any other day such as birthday, etc.

1. Do you prefer to give cash or gift to your relatives?

2. If cash, do you give more to your own sister and less to cousin? Or more to your elder and less to younger?

3. Isn’t giving cash a bad idea? I understand she can spend on whatever she want to. Aren’t Voucher or gift cards better alternatives but she has to buy from particular shops. Well and about the gift you give, she may like it or she may not.

4. How much average do you give cash to sisters? (Both Nepal and Overseas)

5. Last time when I gave Rs. 5000 to sister sister, the other cousin brother gave Rs. 20,000 and he was treated extra special by her and her family. I wasn’t jealous as I am not jealousy type person but these things just amaze me time to time and I just smile inside myself.

  1. So, as a sister my advice is:

Gifts are always a better option. I say this because I have a younger brother. Maybe ma sano bhako bhaye cash would matter more but aile ta I earn more that my brother does, ani money bhanda if he gives me a very thoughtful gift, I would be 1000 times more happier.

Gift maa chahi ofcourse you really really need to think kinabhane generic gifts like empty frames, empty vases in general suck, and people might not like it. Tara if you know your sister really well you will find unique gift ideas.

Cash ko chai tei problem ho, that tesko cost to the face nai thaha huncha, and this may cause issues like in point number 5.

Find what they like and gift it to them bhanchu ma chai, because often, its the thought that counts.

  2. I always think cash is the better option. Aafno job ni xaina. Kei cheap gift dinu vanda tw boru sano sum of money deko thik. If paisa xa vaney chai gift dida ramro.

  3. If point 5. is true, then it’s time you stop going for bhai tika to them. I mean, a masala pack is barely 2000 if you buy good one commercially, and 1000 if you made yourself. Add rest of the things, it’s 1500/2500 for the full set. And it’s not like you’re not providing back the value you got. If I felt this was happening, I’d rather have empty forehead than feel disrespected. It’s not about Jealousy, it’s about the type of people I wanna associate with. 500-5000-50000 should all be same, if it’s not, then it’s the celebration of money and not relationship in my view.

  4. I just ask afno itchhya byakta garnu hai – and the problem is solved. They say X , Y Z and mero teti bela ko aaukat anusar I try to make it a reality 🙂🫡😅❤️

  5. 1. Cash
    2. It is the same for all who give me tika
    3. Vouchers and gift cards are not that popular and practiced in Nepal.
    4. 3,000
    5. If someone gives more, they will be liked more … this may nit be due to the single instance of bhai tika, but a general recognition of the success of that person.
