Why are Nepali people so impeccably dressed?

I’m not from Nepal, but was recently visiting and wondering why all Nepali people are so impeccably dressed? And when I say impeccable, all the women had their nails, hair, and clothes on point. And men had all the trendy Hallyu inspired haircut and clothing. Is it perhaps the Hallyu wave influence? Or has it always been this way? Do Nepali people pay a lot of attention to one’s attire, and appearance?

  1. I have noticed it too, compared to India Nepali ko dressing sense chai mannai parcha, but it’s so much work. You can just were half kattu and go anywhere in India, Nepal ma I feel people judge if you don’t dress well.

  2. May be because you are visiting lot of tourist places. We tend to dress up a bit before going those places.

But I think average Nepali are not well dressed when they are home. Especially now when winter is approaching, we are not gonna change cloth and shower very frequently.

  3. People in the cities and with money, or without money, but those exposed to the world, know how to dress. However, yes, having schooled in India, I always found the Northeastern Indians and Nepalese dressed way better than the average Indians.

  4. Honestly I am Nepali living abroad and I also feel Nepalese here are always overdressed and tip top than other nationalities. I’m odd one. One of my friends responded to me when I told I was from Nepal, that she knew other Nepalese and all of them were point on dressed. She was under impression that Nepalese are naturally dressed to impress. Good thing I guess.

  5. I assume OP is from india. I will share my interesting observations. While I had lived in delhi circa 2010, there would be sale going on in malls every three months or so. I would just go for shopping at the latter days of sale and still amazed to find everything I would want to buy there on the sale hangers. Meaning, locals would buy everything I would not and my choices of garbs would be safe , sound and way cheaper. Just portraying how nepalese chose clothes totally different than most Indians. In conclusion, Nepalese choose diff colors, designs, fits etc , if you claim nepalese are well dressed then this is the reason.

  6. You might be mistaken. Or seen someone rich. As others have said, average nepali fashion is very poor like the country’s economy which directly impacts the fashion.

  7. We are depressed to what to do w in this because here in Nepal there is alot of unstable political stability I think most of people are no way to improve there financial situation or other was banded tiktok most people don’t know how to spent without tiktok that’s why people are depressed or Facebook and Instagram don’t feel like wasting there time

  8. It seems like you are against Korean / Japanese fashion since you mentioned Hallyu.

Nepalese girls have been wearing Kurta (which is Indian/Middle East fashion) and nobody seem to get bothered.

what about your dress up as if yours is better? Are you sure you are not stereotype racist?

Anyway, to each their own. Go to Tokyo, Paris, NY, fashion is wild nobody cares. Do not judge based on fashion outfit.
