I know the main reason is low wages or maybe full scholarships given by universities. Other than that what might be the other reasons for studying bachelors outside Nepal?

Nepal’s education system lacks 2 things

One of the main reasons that isn’t listed usually is Research. Very little research happens in Nepalese Undergraduates. Most of the projects and papers published are just rehashed versions of what’s already available online. And the fault doesn’t lie with students because there is no environment or facilities for them to be involved in any form of research since second or third year. You can’t expect someone to bring something novel when he hasn’t done any work in that said field already. Professors and assistant professors have no interest in conducting research, they only want to print money. They will help you publish your paper after you have done everything. This inhibits your chances of getting admitted to masters abroad.
Also, inflexible schedules, especially in engineering. From 9-5/6 you would be in college, so there’s no way of doing any part time jobs. Only once you are in the eighth semester, maybe you could find a bit of time to do an internship in the side. While in European countries and North America, you might be able to save some money (maybe a lot) while doing bachelors and also get a well paying job because of doing multiple internships or multiple stints of internship in the same company.
outdated syllabus and under qualified teachers
The main villain is TU, irregular exams, takes too long to publish results, and it is such a hassle to get your transcript and other certificates. They even charge you money for their own silly mistakes.
One reason many don’t talk about much is the freedom. Nepali society is very restrictive and judgy, so most young people go abroad to escape from that as well.

The only answer is recognition and accreditation outside of Nepal.
Most other countries’ universities (even in the developed world), have rigid bureaucracy, outdated curriculums, bad lecturers, exorbitant price gouging. Just like our own.
But students domestic and especially foreign, still endure all that just to get a piece of paper at the end, that confirms they graduated from a prestigious institution.
Because what are you supposed to do, if you want a high paying job, from a country where they do not recognise your degree?
How do you survive as an academic, if you want to do research/teach in a foreign country, but your visa is cancelled because they do not recognise your degree?
Even in our own country, we obviously give priority to Western degree holders, because we trust them over Nepali degrees.
This a systematic struggle, as it affects not only Nepal, but most non-Western countries. As the legacy of Colonialism still lingers, with the UK and the US raking in the foreign student money, whilst countries like China or India which also have great universities are not recognisd as such globally.

Also main bhanya timing. Most of the courses are full time even in Bachelors so part time job ko lagi pani environment nei chaina. Bidesh ma padhai ra kam dubei garna sakine enviroment cha.

Ik this has been a long answer but please go through this one and hear me out.
People aren’t talking about this much. But the main reason for recent migration is trend and brainwashing (yes maybe not the perfect word but it’s close to this).
Yes, education in Nepal Ain’t good, exams don’t happen on timely basis, 4 years course goes on becoming 6 years one. And there are alot of reasons to brag about.
But that is not the reason here. Young ones don’t even know why they are going abroad. They have reasons to brag but in reality they are clueless, most of them are anyways.
People go for several reasons and most common are:
1. Their friends circle all are going abroad.
2. The feeling of inferiority if not gone abroad. If someone who is less capable or so you thought went abroad and you are good in academics and who feel extremely deserving are stuck here then here you can relate.
3. Brainwashing. You go to consultancies and here you are brainwashed. They have very sweet tongue and show you this dream that’ll never happen.
The reason I’m saying all these are because recently People who are not financially capable are also going abroad and they are stuck. I’ve seen and heard about alot alot of students who go abroad to study but because of high fees, either they go to university ranked alot alot lower than universities here, go to local community clz where your degree is not worth it or just go for some random degree and engage on low paying jobs. Some people don’t even know which subject will they be studying abroad. And this is true. Abroad studies has been an obsession lately and yes this is true. People need to wake up. Abroad studies won’t necessarily make you good. It’s just a modern day more updated form of brain drain or labour drain (yes i said this because that’s what we’ll be doing abroad, it’s reality if you like it or not).

Whatever they taught us over the course of 4 years could be learnt in a month or two and do better from Yt and all that stuff.
Education system and main reason is it’s not really about what you do in bachelor it’s what will you do after that
Its a waste of money and time for a lot of people, not all but for a lot of people.
4yrs degree takes 5years.
Bad teachers, Outdated Syllabus, Poor Management, Poor Student Welfare, Unrecognized University Globally, Worthless Certification unless you want to apply for masters elsewhere with it. After 4 years you will realize it wasn’t worth it and should’ve gone abroad instead so overall a bad investment of money, time and effort.
