The Global Shapers Community Kathmandu Hub has recently made an exciting announcement! The hub will be hosting SHAPE South Asia 2023, which will take place at the beautiful Hotel Himalaya in Lalitpur from May 19-21. The event’s theme will be “Shaping Climate Resiliency towards a Great Himalayan Future for All.”
Over 120 youth leaders from across South Asia and around the world will convene for the two-and-a-half-day event. The goal is to develop a shared vision for green and climate resilient development. Attendees will have the opportunity to showcase innovative and scalable solutions from across the community. Additionally, actionable recommendations will be developed and translated into climate resiliency projects throughout the region. This event will be far from traditional. In fact, Global Shapers will be fully immersed in the local culture, heritage, and food through the sessions to better understand the Nepali way of life.
It is worth noting that the Global Shapers Community Kathmandu Hub is a part of the Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum (WEF). The global network consists of youth leaders from diverse sectors working to deliver impact through over 450 city-based hubs worldwide. A SHAPE event, on the other hand, is a regional event for shapers by shapers, supported by the wider global community. By participating in this event, attendees will not only have the opportunity to make an impact in their respective regions but also to collaborate with like-minded individuals from all around the world.
