The launch of the Poco X5 Pro 5G in Nepal is imminent, and fans of the brand are eagerly awaiting its arrival. This phone was unveiled alongside the Poco X5 5G on February 6th, and it has some impressive features that are sure to excite smartphone enthusiasts. Starting May 5th, the Poco X5 Pro 5G will be available for pre-booking in Nepal, exclusively through Daraz. In this article, we will delve into the specifications, features, availability, and pricing of the Poco X5 Pro 5G in Nepal.
About the New POCO X5 Pro
It has been ten months since the premiere of the Poco X4 Pro, and naturally, given the fast-paced nature of industry releases, it is now time for Poco’s next-generation smartphone to make its debut. While the X4 Pro was a step backward in terms of performance compared to the X3 Pro, the new Poco X5 Pro aims to address that issue. Additionally, it brings improvements to the display, camera, and sports a new, sleeker design.
The Poco X5 Pro doesn’t deviate significantly from the established formula, as there are no major upgrades. However, there are enough overall improvements to make you consider switching to the new model.
The standout features of the Poco X5 Pro include its Dolby Vision display with 1B colors, the fast Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset, a base storage option of 128GB, and the reintroduction of 4K video capturing.
If the Poco X5 Pro reminds you of another phone, it comes as no surprise. It appears that this Poco model will serve as the international version of the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed, which is intended for the Chinese market.
The Poco X5 Pro retains the 6.67-inch 1080p AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10 certification from its predecessors. However, it now boasts a 10-bit color depth and support for Dolby Vision.
The most significant change lies in the chipset. While the Poco X3 Pro featured the flagship-grade Snapdragon 860 SoC, the X4 Pro opted for the lower mid-range Snapdragon 695 chip. With the X5 Pro, gaming performance is once again prioritized, thanks to the capable Snapdragon 778G platform. The base configuration now offers 6GB of RAM with 128GB of non-expandable storage, but an 8GB + 256GB version is also available.
The camera setup appears to be identical to the one found on the Poco X4 Pro, featuring a triple camera system on the back with a 108MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro shooter, along with a 16MP front-facing camera. The primary camera now supports 4K video capturing, likely due to the upgraded Snapdragon chip.
Other notable specifications remain consistent, such as stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging. The Poco X5 Pro runs on Android 12, layered with the latest MIUI 14.
Furthermore, the refined design of the phone deserves recognition. While the phone’s shape and the large black camera module remain unchanged, the back panels are now more understated. The X5 Pro is available in simple black, blue, and yellow colors, without any flashy effects or gradients.
Upon reviewing the Poco X5 Pro specifications, it is evident that there are not many omissions. The phone includes popular features among fans, such as dual SIM 5G support, NFC, two speakers, an IR blaster, and an audio jack. Similar to other Poco and Redmi phones, it also offers splash resistance.
However, one feature that has been omitted since the Poco X4 Pro is the microSD expansion slot, which may disappoint some users.
