MIT lagauni is not just friendship but special kind of friendship. e.g. after becoming ‘mit’, they are not allowed to call by their name (so call by mitjyu), are connected for at least for 7-9 generation, have to consider themselves of same blood etc. so that they should never fight, think ill of each other etc.Tjis was our old culture and I like this culture and has interest in it.Yes I also have my MIT who is from kathmandu . Does anybody have same kind of bond with someone?

My grandmother used to tell me stories about Mitini of her. They literally taught eachother languages they arranged marriages of relatives from both side And they got tattoos together tyo Dot wala blue tattoo and many many adventures dispite coming from different casts.
They were still in touch after being 65+ age
I don’t know anything about this, as an outsider looking in…but I think it’s awesome to have 7-9 generation ‘friends’! Like you are friends with the child of your dad’s friend, and so on, back to your great great great great great grandfather? Like for more than 150 years at least, you are friends?
my sister and dad have mit and mitini
my mom had mitini, my sis had one, dad probably had one. i have two mitni didi and a family. cant rem mom’s mitinis family but been there once to their home.
also most of mit and mitini used to be intercaste. the best of the culture.
My mom actually has two mitini one was forced to her by parents and another was because she wanted. Funny thing is I actually wanted to be mit with mitini ko chora(from the first mit aama) as we grew up together. But according to traditions it wasn’t possible so 🤷♂️.
I do have a Mitjyu. Bachhai ma lagako. sanai dekhi sangai padheko. Najik naik ghar bhako. Ahile bidesh janubhayo. Mero lagi saathi vanda badhi ho. Dajubhai jastai ho haami. Kasto eklo eklo feel hunxa ahile. Nepal vaka 1-2 ta sathi ni city bahira xan.
Edit: Tyo 7-9 generation samma chai jadaina hola ahile ta. 3 ta generation ho badhi ma. 2ta chai sajilai janxa hola.
Gosh, I had totally forgotten about this. Sano huda I really wanted a mitini but never got one.
This is super interesting anyone know the origin of this? I know my aunt has one.
Anyone wanna be my miteri?
why make MIT when you can go to MIT instead
