Is this Legal?

I am in F1 visa in USA and want to invest in Crypto and Stocks. Is this legal for us ( nepalese). Is there anyone who have been doing crypto here in US? Will there be any law related Consequences?

  1. I am not sure how crypto comes into play with Nepal “banning” them and what not. Stocks you can own. What you cannot do is actively “trade” stocks as if it were your job.

But regular investing in the market/retirement- go crazy!

  2. Nepal bhitra ta illegal nai chha; Nepal bahira pani Nepali Janatale kunai pani khalko crypto sambhandhi kei ni garna mildaina

Aba luki luki garne ho bhane that’s totally fine as long as you can manage it wisely 🙂 Tara, tyo paiso Nepal sano sano amount gari remittance ko rupma pathau.

    Stay safe 🔥

    Edit:
Aba Nepalese govt le hami Nepali janatalai Indian stocks haru kinbech garna ta deko chhaina 🤔🧐

Tara, garne le garirako chhan ni. Kuro yeti nai ho.

  3. As far as I know, getting small amount like 2k extra in a year from investing and you are not working on it as an active day trader, such probably won’t do much but once the amount is substantial amount of your yearly income, it becomes a problem.

BUT, there’s a legal grey area where lets say you invested a lot of money into stocks and it will amount to some big numbers even though you are not actively working on it.

I would say do more research on it, go to subreddit like r/h1b and others to get more info about it.

  4. As a Nepalese F1 visa holder in the USA, your ability to invest in stocks and cryptocurrencies is generally governed by US regulations. Nationality itself usually doesn’t restrict investment activities, but you should still be aware of any specific restrictions or reporting requirements that may apply to non-U.S. citizens.
