Good place to build a second home

Good place to build a second home

I am seeing what’s a good place to build a small house outside Kathmandu. I just want some peace but don’t want to sacrifice convenience.

I want somewhere where there is excellent roads, great internet (my career depends on it), good hospitals and has access to at least Bhatbhanteni type supermarket. Yeso herda Bharatpur, Hetauda and Birtamode are closest contenders.

Please help me understand how to acquire land outside and how much would a modern elegant house cost to build?

PS. I am a remote tech person so it doesn’t matter where I live.

Thanks!

  1. Palpa on the outskirts of tansen. A home around Siddhartha highway would be great and the view from places around tansen is great . Prabhas would be a perfect place . Weather is also great .

  2. Birtamod and few reasons:

    1. Bhadrapur airport in 20 minutes by bike, air fare to Ktm these days are around 5000 to 6500 and there are regular plenty of flights
    2. Bhatbhateni and few other supermarkets near by city
    3. Great clubs, night music, cafes, family restaurants
    4. booming business hubs, hotels, plenty of people migration from other regions of jhapa, and ilam taplejung, panchthar for good colleges and facilities
    5. Kanyam, Ilam or Antu Dada in 40 minutes, chillest place to go relax in summer when its kinda hot
    6. Many internet service providers. There is worldlink office right in the city.
    7. Jhapali ko sangat garna pawnu also is a good point i guess
    8. comparatively cheaper i guess than Hetauda and Bharatpur
    9. 20 minutes by bike to India border kakarvitta, nice way to go shopping and bring in some good stuffs in cheap price
    10. can easily go to India for tousim like sikkim, and darjelling
    11. good parks
    12. Sanitation and roads: Average vanam
    13. Hospitals:Birtacity, BNC, Manmohan and plenty others
    14. Mahendra Highway goes through birtamod, so you would find connection to everywhere

  3. Near butwal (not exactly Butwal) or outskirts of Tansen ( for a weather like ktm + organic food + culture). Land is not cheap in either of these places, but yeah, you do get access of all stuffs you need… supermarkets, good internet, international airport, good roads (mostly), hospital.
