Me and my family (total 3 persons) want to do Mustang trip next week. I would like some insights from people who did this before or recently. Our interest is to use vehicle as far as possible because my family might not be able to walk the full trek route, and do some day walks (or small hikes: 3-4 hour a day) tour around the village of Jomsom, Kagbeni, Muktinath, and Lo Manthang.
1. If we plan to use public vehicles from Pokhara all the way to Lo Manthang and back, is it possible? How are the roads with the recent monsoon season and what difficulty might we face?
2. If we take a jeep or any other rental vehicle with driver, how much should I expect in terms of cost for a trip of approximately 5 day 4 night?
3. Any recommendations or cost estimate you have is highly appreciated 🙂
Thank you for your insights.

Public vehicle might be available till mustang/muktinath area, for upper mustang, you might have to rent a vehicle as you are also planning to do some hikes around the areas.
Vehicle rental from Pokhara is available with the driver and the price depends upon the itinerary.
If you have a foreigner in your family then you will need to get a permit, nepali bhaye permit haru linu parena.
Saw that there was a flood few weeks back in kagbeni, so th road might be little disturbed around that area.
You can take jeep.all the way to choser cave and up to the korala border and come back.
