Crafting Legacy: Aabha Basnet's Journey with Rawhide Leather

Venturing into the vibrant atmosphere of Heritage Garden, I found myself amidst the exhilarating festivities of ‘The Annapurna Express Nepal Bike Day’. Amidst the revving engines and the lively crowd, I stumbled upon a captivating stall – Aabha Basnet’s Rawhide Leather. Amidst the pulsating energy of the bike day festivities, stumbling upon Aabha’s stall felt like stumbling upon a hidden gem.

What caught my attention wasn’t just the impeccable craftsmanship of the leather goods but also the fact that Aabha, a young woman entrepreneur in her 20s, was at the helm of this woman-owned startup in the heart of Kathmandu, Nepal.

Amidst the buzz of the expo, Aabha’s stall drew crowds with its durable, colorfast, and aesthetically pleasing leather products. Visitors were captivated by the exquisite display, and Aabha’s engaging demeanor ensured that even those unfamiliar with leather found themselves learning something new.

As I observed the hustle and bustle around her stall, it was evident that Aabha’s passion and dedication were driving forces behind her success. Her stall remained a hub of activity throughout the expo, with visitors returning to explore her offerings time and again.

Under the banner of Rawhide Leather, Aabha showcased an impressive range of products, from leather laptop bags to handbags and pouches, all produced in her own industry. Her commitment to quality and customer satisfaction shone through as she personally ensured that every visitor left her stall with a thorough understanding of her products.

Reflecting on her journey, Aabha shared that she had been in the leather production business for four years, but it was only recently that she had ventured into sales. With the support of her brother and especially her parents, who played a significant role in her entrepreneurial journey, she had managed to turn her passion into a thriving business.

Despite facing challenges along the way, Aabha remains undeterred in her vision to expand her business globally. With a focus on product quality and customer satisfaction, she was determined to take Rawhide Leather to new heights.

As I left the expo, inspired by Aabha’s story of resilience and determination, I couldn’t help but feel optimistic about the future of women entrepreneurship in Nepal. With young leaders like Aabha paving the way, the possibilities seemed endless.
