I live abroad right now, and I want to prevent my Ncell number from expiring after 6 months. I saw online that if you recharge 1000rs, it will increase the validity of the main balance by 730 days. Does this mean that my SIM number won’t expire for another 2 years if I recharge 1000rs?

If it has the date, it won’t expire for NTC. Should be the same for Ncell.
It won’t, even if does when you get back to nepal and topup your balance it will re activate your sim. But the best way to absolutely be certain is to get international roaming and make a random call for a couple of mintues once every 5-6 months(assuming you took your sim with you to wherever you live).
