We all know, perhaps even most foreigners know by now how proud we Nepalese are for our country π³π΅
But let’s be honest,
– What are we proud of?
– What is Nepal best at?
Example – Phillipines has Pacman when it comes to the sports they get proud of that man.
So ours is Mt. Everest? Or Birthplace of Buddha? Momo the best dumpling? Or Pur unique flag?
I know you don’t like such questions and anyone giving crap answer, then my reply will be HaHaHa no matter that but honestly what are we proud of?
Well, if I have to, Nepal is very best at standing strong (chaati fulayera) between mighty India and China, therefore that’s what I am proud of.

We are good at conserving endangered animals like rhinos and tigers. Chitwan national park has the second highest concentration of one horned rhinos after India. The number of tigers in Nepal has tripled since 2009. We are considered one of the world leaders in tiger conservation. We have the 4th highest number of tigers in the world. All of this is quite impressive considering we are such a small country and not good economically either.
I know it’s sad to see your own country in condition like this. But to Nepal’s credit, at least I’m grateful that I was not born in a country like palestine. Many of them can currently only dream of what we have now
We’ve the best president and prime Minister in the world. The Healthcare and education is topmost of any country. Zero corruption is there in any governmental offices. Roads are too good that Germany learns from us. Pollution doesn’t exist. Not a single person is unemployed unless they want to. Our passport is strongest in the world. So many things to be proud about.
Dr Sanduk Ruit
Nothing.
The “pride” most Nepali people have is meaningless.
You’ll grow up and realise that you’re just indoctrinated by western individualistic egocentric line of thought and it doesn’t matter at all in the end. To find worth in something superficial is only the clinging of your mind
whatever Nepali are “proud” of are based on either our geography or our ancestors. Proud of Mt. Everest? Well its just geography, Proud that Buddha was born in Nepal? do you even follow those principles? Proud to be Grokhalis? Well those were our ancestors and in my pov it was dumb for our ancestors to fight for other. Once my teacher told us: Nepali haru lai American haru le alikati ramro vanyo ki furfur parxan ani when they need soldiers they said Nepal and stuff ani Gorkhalis haru furfur paryo and went to fight their war. Proud of architectures? Well that was our old Kings work. I might be wrong and please correct me if I am. Tara I don’t see any reason to be so called proud of this country. Also that doesn’t mean I don’t love my country. It’s my birthplace and I am more than thankful for it.
Why does it have to be best at anything, no country is best at anything. Learn to love your country man.
After reading some of these replies in this thread, If this is the new generation of Nepal, Our country ain’t got no hope. Hate the politicians, hate the people, hate the system, but what’s with the hatred toward my nation. This is the best goddamn nation in the world, and wherever I am in the world I am going to wear my nationality like a badge of honor. Proud to be a Nepali.
Also what are even trying to write, how old are you? If you’re anything above the 10th grade, and this is the way you write. Then, yes, our Education System really failed you. Philippines “has pacman” and “Pacman is a sport” and that’s the achievement Philippines is “proud” of. You don’t sound vey smart from your post and the replies, so either you’re probably a kid or a really dumb idiot, either way you should stick with school.
Nepal is simply just the best. Best at what you ask? Best at being the worst in almost everything. The potential that our country had/has and what it has come to be is just mind-boggling. The corrupt leaders and the older generation not giving a fuck about the development of the country. Everyone is just too fucking busy getting their arses into temples and praying for a good life and better health. Meanwhile the country is just falling apart. Theres really no hope for the youth here. Prices for everything is skyrocketing and if thats not gonna kill you, then slowly and surely, the pollution will.
Rant aside, obviously, Nepal has some of the best mountains and many people visit our country even just to get a glimpse of them from as close as possible. If the roads from KTM to PKR was better, there would be even more people visiting the country. Nepal also has great food.
We are proud of palestine
We are the hardest working people. Put any nepali in a fucking situation and they will survive the longest. Resourceful. Seeing all your responses on the bottom really makes one wonder the future of the country when the youths are like this in the nation
Yo subreddit ma chutiya manxe haru chan. Hami sabaile k garyo chau ki hami sabai afaima ma proud hune. Then talk about proud of Nepal. I remember John F kennedy quote which is ” **Ask not what your country can do for you β ask what you can do for your country** “

Actually nothing. Uprightness was once a Nepali virtue but today uprightness is nowhere scarcer than in Nepal. Everything the Nepali was once proud of is eroded.
Our geographical structure,
Talai Jaatha. Malai laagi rathyo aghi mo:mo ko post garne pani tai hos vanera. Aghi gareko gaali pugena.
Best is such a subjective thing. What is best for me may not be best for you. Your country doesnβt have to be best in anything for you to take pride in it. Whenever anything bad happens in the country, we say Nepal is a country cursed by Sati, but for me personally, it is one of the last places on earth where you can still feel what it truly means to be alive. I donβt mean the kind where you seek thrill to feel alive by bungee jumping or paragliding. Take an evening stroll around Boudha stupa or Pashupatinath mandir and you will experience it for yourself. There are no illusions, no dreams, no disbeliefs and everything comes around in a circle. I had a relatively easy life growing up in Kathmandu so may be my viewpoint could be different from someone living in remote places, but at the end of the day it is how you learn to be content in life.

“Best at” would be hard to say. I think hospitality might be easy answer.
I remember just couple years ago, mamaghar ma a survey guy got to stay in our house with special treatment for free, because he was a guest.
Even ma baccha hune belama tannai baas basinthio. I am 23 now, till 7 class so we had to go gau ko ghar till I was 12-13. Dashain ma paani paryo vane you had to walk 9 – 12 hours to reach home from sadar mukam. Similar time for my ghar to mamaghar journey. Mom ko phone hunthena, only person travelling would be my mom and I, dubai jana tannai vomit garne. Both journey ma we had big river and again paani parne, baadi aairakhne, 3-4 thau ma pahiro gairakhne, baato used to be very sketchy. We had to hope someone fixed and made way in pahiro when we reach there. It was a gamble, either ukalo jungle ko baato hidera 6-7 ghanta badhaune ki pahiro ko chito baato jane. Baato baneko chaina vane baas basnu parthio. I have some vivid memories baas baseko. **This** one time I remember this house giving baas to ~20 people because river was the blocking path. Sure, they didn’t gave us food (I mean why would they?) but they gave us shelter and blankets to cover ourselves during sleep.
I am sure, ajha pani timi ramro behave garera baas magyo vane gau ghar tira dincha with food.
