Hey guys. We took a baina of 2 lacs and further 7 lacs. The 7lacs cheque bounced. Everything is in the paper. The buyer then passed away and the buyers family is pestering us to return the baina. Do we legally have to give it back?

Assuming the person gave you some money as baina to buy land from you but died and his family were not able to pay for the land, you are not legally obliged to pay back that amount as it’s them that were unable to fulfill the contract. But it’s moral to give it back to them when the real person you were dealing with is dead.
Bainako kagaz wada ma gareko ho? Gareko ho bhane firta diyeko ramro.
In you baina paper, there should be a clause that deals with this situation. Read the paper carefully and you will know what to do.
Legally Most probably Not, Morally Yes Please !
