Ncell Axiata, a private telecom operator, has appointed Jabbor Kayumov as its new CEO. Kayumov, who has over 15 years of experience working in top telecommunication companies, will assume the position on May 10. He has previously worked at Ncell as its CCO and at Smart Cell as both its CCO and CEO from 2013-2016, making him a familiar name in Nepal’s telecom industry. He also has experience working at TELIA and VEON, and most recently served as the CEO and Board Member at Digicel Jamaica. Kayumov earned a Master’s degree in Economics from Khujand University in 2002.
Kayumov’s extensive experience in the telecom industry and his prior roles at Ncell and Smart Cell make him well-suited for the position of CEO at Ncell Axiata. Additionally, his recent work as CEO and Board Member at Digicel Jamaica and previous experience at TELIA and VEON further enhance his qualifications. Kayumov’s academic background in Economics will also be an asset in navigating the economic landscape and potential challenges facing the telecom industry in Nepal. He is set to begin his new role on May 10, and we wish him success in his new position.
