Hey there, my dad seems to have blood cancer according to immunohistochemistry report that came recently, i donot know whom to visit and who might be the best option to go to get treated , pathologist told me to visit a oncologist which is also an expert on hematology he gave me a name of a person working in a teaching hospital but when i googled i seem to find no exact match related to haemato oncologist , and it seems teaching hospital offers no oncologist related services . please help , whom should i go to ??

If you are in Kathmandu, then Dr. Bisesh Paudel from civil hospital is a good option. He and his fellows run the Blood Hospital at Jawalakhel, which is expensive.. and the doctor is also blunt and impolite, to put it mildly.. but he’s the only one I know of

I’ve consulted with Dr. Bisesh Paudel (civil and blood hospital )and Dr. Amit Shrestha (Hams and Cancer hospital) in Nepal and few docs in India. I prefer Dr Amit. Bisesh is more renowned but has really shitty attitude. I found Dr. Amit to be knowledgeable. His method was similar to Indian doctor and he is more accessible.

Ok here’s my personal experience.
Dr bishesh paudel, he’s not good with behaving patients. Just ask him one or two questions and he will start scolding. He is the perfect example, why you raise hand on doctors.
If you go to Dr sudeep shrestha, that will be harissidhi. Way expensive
Lastly, i would suggest you go see Dr Anjan shrestha. He stays in teaching hospital, maharajhunj and also private places if you can search on internet.
PS. My personal experience with my aunt. We went to all these three places. Dr Anjan was good but if you have good financial background just go to india, to TATA memorial, or Rajiv gandhi or max delhi. They are way better!!!

I don’t recommend any hospitals around Nepal for cancer as per my experience with my mom and as per me, who is currently studying medicine and my teachers whom i have consulted. I would recommend you to Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, Delhi. My mom is currently getting her treatment there only.
