I have few friends from us and have good relationship with them even though i haven’t stepped outside Nepal and India.
Best thing about Western people that their conversation is really interesting and factual they don’t hide their feelings or telling about their loved ones , they don’t care if you judge them or not they will talk to you with real conversation worth and they have really good social upbringing. Girls really don’t freakout give you judgemental looks if you approach them. Share if you feel same.

Meeting a few people or tourists in a different social setting is far different than living in a society where those tourists/people came from. There are all kinds of people in those societies just like in Nepal.
Westerners aren’t monolithic group. They come from various different countries, cultures and societies who are far different from each other. Americans usually tend to be more outspoken, too friendly and overconfident, sometimes often perceived as loud and rude while Germans mostly like to keep it among themselves.
You can also think of this as, they don’t feel intimidated by you to be affected by your judgement. There could be many reasons why they feel so, both good and bad.
All I’m saying is you are making a broad generalization based on your limited interaction with few.
Billions of people in the west, and you have few friends, maybe say few friend from west are this that, just because you dont meet those people in nepal, doesnt mean they dont exist. Atleast, i have those people like your western few friends.
Remember, those same western people in the pandemic caused large cases of asian hate crimes,not to mention black white racism. So nah, western people dont judge ? Nah they become worst. Not saying every western, not generalizing, but good bad both people exist in the west. Plus, your few friends, you just online talk with them, who knows the reality. Social media is fake.
But funny, you trust them so much with these just because you talked to them online ? Strange for you to believe all them.

They might be direct yes and that’s their unique characteristics. But do they happen connections with friends and family like we do? no.

Westerners are not one monolithic group where everyone acts the same way. Americans might be more open with feelings and talk a lot but if you go to Scandinavia, there everyone is quiet and closed off and very private. They don’t share emotions or feelings openly and they value their privacy a lot. Eastern European countries like more like us where they drink a lot and party a lot and like to get into fights. Even in US, people in northern states like Minnesota are more private and don’t talk much while people in southern states are more open. In cities like NYC, you won’t find people who will talk to you on the street or who are okay with being approached. They can be straight up rude. So there is a lot of difference and just basing an opinion about ‘western people’ after just talking to few people from US is massive generalization.
Hmm… One thing i noticed was that they talk so nicely to other people. Saying stuff like ” you are so kind”, “thank you so much”, ” have a beautiful day”. We don’t really talk like that. Also I am in a predominantly indian neighborhood. But noone has yet made any gestures towards me. Except a white guy nodding his head at me. And a small white girl who rode past me in a bike. Looking at me for a long time with a wide smile on her face. Can’t recall any such incident with other brown people.
I have been trying to make brown friends but unsuccessfully till now. Are they all like introverted around strangers or something? Maile ta phone no ni magera lako senior’s ko. Kei sodhna hunca vanera hai reply nai garenan texts ko ta😅
Been living in the west and I can confirm. They don’t give a damn about what others think, but they do express themselves no matter the situation, which in some cases is a real bummer. With time, even I’ve become the same, idk if that’s a good or a bad thing 😅
I do believe that term western here is referring to “Western Europe”. Many of them are way richer than us, thus well-fed which makes them better in outlook and built up. And, many of them are educated than us. It’s not that Westerners aren’t racist, sexist and communal like us, but they can argue better.
What differentiate western people from us is theirs tolerance of others in their societies. Though racism is rife in “Western Europe” still thousands migrate especially from Islamic countries. Despite many muslims utter disgust against Western cultures and their liberalism and atheism, and indeed, many Hindus travel to same beef eating land every day in hordes.
West is about western people who prides being part of open societies. For example, a Nepali boy can dream about becoming a prime minister of England or Scotland while being a Hindu or Buddhist or even a Dalit or Janajati.
But if someone is a Christian in this country, then- just check the Nepali social medias, hell awaits them.
It’s just that you don’t meet such people often in Nepal. I do agree I can trust my friends from other counties more than I can trust my friends from Nepal.

“not giving a damn about what others do” attitude of westerners , be it liberals or conservatives,it doesn’t come with tolerance but rather from i don’t give a fuck if they die. They’re literally the one who have been treating us as subhumans the last thing we need to do is envy it.
Nazis, racists, queerphobes, fascists, liberals, trumpists, man there’re plenty, infact majority of bad westerners. Dont généralise if you met one cool white.
While it is generally true that Westerners (mostly just Americans) are generally more “extroverted” and I agree with this part only, the rest is just conjecture, baseless and just your experience with a few people.
