Don’t overpack when you’re going for a trek. And buy proper trekking shoes (very important).
You can go for short hikes a week or two before trekking to prepare yourself, Nagarjun Jamacho Monastery and Shivapuri National Park if you reside in Kathmandu Valley.
I went a week ago.
Clothes: You’ll need very warm clothes after you cross Deurali through to MBC and ABC. I had packed lightly and regretted it dearly. So pack nice warm clothes, gloves and a scarf as well because the wind up there is brutal. For lower elevations though, you’ll be fine with summer clothes since you’ll be warm from walking alone.
Shoes: Trekking shoes from Goldstar will do fine. The trail is very well maintained with a lot of steps so the chances of you losing your footing are minimal. Still, get a nice pair of trekking shoes with good grip. And don’t forget trekking poles. The bamboo sticks will not do the job.
Preparation: I suggest you go on a practice hike around your area approximately 1 week before you leave for ABC. That way your muscles will get a nice round of exercise and will heal if some injury occurs. That will also teach you the speed you need to walk uphill without losing your breath. Preferably go on a hike with an elevation gain of at least 700m and that has plenty of steps. That’s exactly the condition you’ll find on the trail.
Please take me also🌝
I also need same suggestions. Please reply my comment to remind me!
Pack super light but prepare for both hot(at the start of trek) and cold weather.
