I would like to talk about the difference between an educated and an uneducated man(literate or an illiterate i dont know but this word choice might fit as per some of you) . Do you guys think an educated man is more open to change , has a wider perspective in different subjects and is clearly different in terms of etiquettes and the way he present himself from an uneducated one? I would like to entirely believe there is sharp line between an educated and an uneducated one and adhere with the Nepali proverb akhir padhe lekheko manche padhe lekhekai huncha however, I have myself stumbled upon highly educated professionals who were not respectful enough. One of my high school teachers despite being an intellect in physics was always disrespectful towards his students and taunted us for no reason. akhir k ho kura are such things rooted with upbringing and Am I mistaking it for education ? I dont want to be criticized for word choice and such things since this confusion was living rent free in my mind I just want to clear it out…

I don’t think its about education. I believe its how, where and with whom we live, how we were raised up and what kind of society it was.
There’s many reasons but here’s one that comes to mind:
That proverb probably became famous cus in the old times you had to go out of your village/area to new places to study. You’d face hardships, and experience different cultures and ways of life. This life experience is what gets you the good stuff you mentioned.
Now in today’s world, this need not be true. You can study pretty far up but still be in similar life conditions, and not face many hardships (esp. if ur privileged and ungrateful). This results in all kinds of shitty human traits.
Conversely, you can be someone who left their home at 16 to travel India to do dishes, faced infinite hardships, but kept at it and became a successful businessman. You have life experiences that don’t come from books.
Basically, like book smarts vs street smarts. Life experiences vs just academic garbage.

Generally speaking yes, there are exception ofcourse. I have seen people with PHD discriminating people from “lower” class. Just because they are educated doesn’t always men they are intelligent.

Education doesn’t mean jackshit when it comes to personality and values. You can go to Harvard and be a shit human being, just like so many people have shown in the past. You can also never go to school and still be a good person. Education just makes you a functioning part of society. It doesn’t make you a better person.

There is a big difference between reading and knowing. People can generally read stuff like Physics discovered by other people and take it for granted. Actually to tell the truth, it depends. Educated hos ya uneducated it really depends whether you are kind, compassionate or not. I have seen arrogant so called “educated” bunches and uneducated kind bunches too. The thing is when we try to make the educated-ignorant bunch to make our opinions understand they are never ready to listen, the arrogance of “educated person” is when they are never ready to learn new things or say some cannot just accept the fact that they are being criticized (even if it’s positive one). On the other hand, people whom we call “illiterate” are more often ready to accept the opinions of other and are least arrogance in terms of learning.

i feel like most of us are hypocrites( including me ofc). most of us know the right things and yet not do it and there could literally be any reason to it. Also education has no relation with personality and beliefs, at least not fully but you get the idea.
the only diffrence is vocabulary, educated one has more words to explain something and the educated one can get a white collar job. Other things like behving with others , treating people , being nice to other people comes built in from the family culture.
