My time is very limited in Nepal - between a day trip to Pokhara and the Everest sightseeing flight, what should I do?

I’m going to be landing in Kathmandu in the morning, and plan to explore Kathmandu that first day. Then the second day, I have to decide between flying out to Pokhara for the day before returning to the evening, or doing the Everest sightseeing flight before exploring Kathmandu for a second day. I fly out of Nepal the next morning.

  1. Oh idk. Having never done the Everest flight, it’s tough to say for me. I’m leaning toward Pokhara though, even though I’m now scared of their flights to Pokhara. Odds are you’re fine ofc. I think Pokhara would probably be better. Been to Nepal 3 times and while I’m not around many foreigners, haven’t had people insisting to do the Everest flight. You might google it and if nothing, add “Reddit” to your keyword search. I’d be tempted for Pokhara. Pokhara does have a cool flight thing where you go high up on a flight device (tiny plane thing) that gets you close to its mountain and above the city, and then eventually back down for landing. Was like $200 in 2015. Lake area is nice and walking around. I liked riding a scooter there, bc little traffic and about $10 to rent altho they take your passport so you don’t steal their scooter. There is a gondola/cable-car in Pokhara, so that gives some good views. I really need to know more about the Everest flight from someone who’s done it. Pokhara is much preferred to Kathmandu tho, because the nearby mountain is right in your face and it usually feels less chaotic with traffic.
