I recently took the CEE exams and secured a rank below 700, which allows me the option to enroll in a decent college (paying) . My parents are ready to cover my fees. However, I must admit that I dont have a genuine interest in studying medicine and don’t have a specific life goal. I thought being a doctor would be a safe job with good pay and a future regardless of the outcome. But now I am second-guessing myself. Is pursuing this course really worth the hype?
There’s a common belief that doctors have little to no personal life and might have to wait until their 50s to earn a good income, especially if they stay in Nepal. Another option is taking the USMLE and going abroad, but this route is more competitive than the CEE. I don’t think I have that in me to give up my youth just to earn respect and get settled with a family when I am 50. So, what should I do? Am I overthinking this stuff and go ahead with studying MBBS thinking it will be worth it or should I opt for another field (like Engineering after taking a drop)?
Don’t study MBBS under payment scheme.
Being a doctor is not worth it at the end. So follow ur hobby. Study what you find peaceful.
As a Post Graduate (MD), I would tell not to do MBBS under full pay scheme if you don’t have the enthusiasm to bear the burden of Medical Field.
5.5 years of MBBS will give you pay of 1 lakh per month if you work 30 days/month.
3 years of MD will give you pay of 2-3 lakhs per month if you get good speciality.
3 years of DM will give you pay of 4-5 lakhs per month if you are able to negotiate properly.
And you will have 1-2 years gap between studies so give or take it will take you 13-15 years to finally be ready to settle down.
You won’t get leaves like the fellows in other fields.
The risk of getting beaten in Nepal as a doctor is very high.
The working hours are too hectic sometimes.
Residency will be toxic in almost all of the places.
So if you can survive all the hardships and willing to spend most of your life spending inside hospital and studying then I would welcome you to the fraternity else it’s better to choose the field in which you have interest.

And this type of questions isn’t right for asking for opinion s.I will tell you to join CA and then you hate it adter beginning the course.Then you will feel and regret reddit guy le garda yesma kina aiyexa.
