The point for discount all day every year is that a typical student isn’t a part of earning population. Hence, they cannot support for themselves and are on net negative financially. I don’t know exact law but I reckon students should be liable for discounts regardless of public holiday or not.
Shit like this happens, if it’s late at night I’ve paid full fee. I’ve heard shit like the card won’t operate after 8pm. Also they always round off to ceil value and profit 2-3 rupees. Honestly I hate shit like this when they are already extorting higher fees.

Yehi kura traffic dai Lai ni vandinu na. Uha haru le ta sanibar ni chalxa vannu hunxa vandine chup lagxan maximum.
They profit from discount too. Discount 45% hunu parne ho rules anusar on top of actual cost. But they round up the actual charge to higher 5 denominator and give you Rs. 10 discount at max.
Bhaktapur to Bagbazar ko charge 35 ho. Student discount garda 19 hunxa but they charge 25. Testai baneshor samma ko 16 hunu parne ma they charge 20.

Malai pani pahila pahila 5-10 rupees badi lida ekdam naramro kaththyo mood nai kharab laghthyo. It wasn’t about money rather then thagiyeko jasto feel but after knowing bus business and how expensive is it to run a bus, have constant maintenance and how less they earn than we actually think aajkal chai 5-10 le k nai huncha jasto lagna thalyo. Yes cheating gareko ta ramro haina but they don’t earn much despite all that.
