Apple launched the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max at the Apple Fall Event 2021. Due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, the event took place online the same as last year. Apple showcased all the hardware for this year. They also launched a new Apple Watch Series 7, iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone 13, and iPhone 13 Mini. iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max Overview

iPhone 13 Pro Series Overview

iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are the successors of last year’s iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. Both the smartphones arrive with noticeable upgrades and tweaks compared to their predecessors. The smartphone boasts a 120Hz Display, Upgraded Cameras, the fastest processor, bigger battery capacity, and more.

Design

iPhone 13 Pro Design

Starting off with the design, iPhone 13 Pro And Pro Max are identical to last year’s iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. It also has a sleek and flat-edged design. The smartphones arrive with a 20% narrower notch than their predecessors. It has a Ceramic Shield front Textured matte glass back and stainless steel design. It has the same notch on the top which is now 20% smaller than the previous generation iPhones. The new iPhone 13 Pro models are slightly heavier than last year’s iPhone 12 Pro models. iPhone 13 Pro has 46.7 x 71.5 x 7.65 mm (5.78 x 2.81 x 0.30 in) dimensions and weighs only 204 gm. The iPhone 13 Pro Max has 160.8 x 78.1 x 7.65 mm (6.33 x 3.07 x 0.30 in) dimensions and weight of 240 gm. 

Display

iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max Display

Both iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max feature a Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion. iPhone 13 Pro flaunts a 6.1‑inch (diagonal) all‑screen OLED display along with 2532‑by‑1170-pixel resolution at 460 PPI and the iPhone 13 Pro Max boasts a large 6.7‑inch (diagonal) all‑screen OLED display with 2778‑by‑1284-pixel resolution at 458 PPI. Apple has finally introduced a 120Hz ProMotion display that adjusts between 10Hz and 120Hz. It is definitely one of the highlights of the smartphone. The common features that both of these models share are HDR display, True Tone, Wide color (P3), Haptic Touch, 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio (typical), 1000 nits max brightness (typical),1200 nits max brightness (HDR), Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, and many more.

Cameras

iPhone 13 Pro Camera

Moving on to the camera department, both iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Max sports the same diagonally placed triple rear camera system. It consists of a 12 MP main camera with f/1.5 aperture, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera with f/1.8 aperture and 120° field of view, and a 12 MP telephoto camera with f/2.8 aperture. Other features include 3x optical zoom in, 2x optical zoom out; 6x optical zoom range, Digital zoom up to 15x, Night mode, Deep Fusion, Smart HDR 4, and many more. 

Other camera features include Photographic Styles, Night mode portraits, Night mode in telephoto lens, Cinematic mode, and ProRes videos. The front camera also comes with FaceID support, Smart HDR 4, Deep Fusion, Night Mode, Cinematic Mode, Night Mode Selfies. There is also Portrait Lighting with six effects: Natural, Studio, Contour, Stage, Stage Mono, and High‑Key Mono. Talking about videography, both iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max are capable of recording up to 4K at 60 fps. In ProRes mode, they both can shoot up to 4K at 30 fps but you are limited to 1080p at 30fps in the base 128GB storage variant. On the front camera, they can shoot up to 4K at 60 fps and 1080p at 120 fps.
